Senior Vice President & Air Berlin PLC & Co. Luftverkehrs KG / airberlin technik GmbH, Managing Director (CEO) Berlin (The airberlin group is the second largest Airline Group in central Europe

with 145 AC and approx. 9000 Employees. The headquarter is based in Berlin, with large Stations in Viena, Dusseldorf, Zurich and Munich and Mallorca. The Narrow Body fleet contains the Airbus Family A319/320/321, Boeing 737-700/800, Bombardier Q 400 and 14 Airbus 330-200 widebody. The narrow Body fleet operates mainly in Europe, the widebody fleet flies to the Americas and Asia. Airberlin is Partner of One World and Etihad Partner).

June 2014 - Today The SVP Technical is responsible for Air Berlin´s Group Technical

Division with more than 1.800 employees. As the Accountable Manager Part EASA Part 145 and Managing Director of the subsidiary airberlin technik GmbH he oversees Engineering, Technical Purchasing and Contracts, Technical Operations Control, Training, Aircraft Specification and Modification, Technical Quality and Production.

Achievement: • Managed a very tight budget of 390 mio€ (opex and capex),

saved 9 mio € with various activities, Reduced the staff by 5% and the Management by 10%, build a new strong team of 6 direct reports to led the approx.1800 Staff and increased the OTP to an all time high of 99,4% and OTR of 99.9% .

• Developed a global aircraft Maintenance Strategy for the AB Group in line with overall AB corporate objectives and applicable regulatory requirements ensuring highest technical standards, on time technical performance, best cost, security and safety of operation.

• Managed Air Berlin Technik GmbH towards a profitable organization, opened a new subsidiary facility in East Europe.

• Oversaw the various AB Group Aircraft Maintenance Organizations and guide the nominated Postholders for Maintenance (airberlin, Nikki, Belair, LGW) for all the accountabilities and regulatory requirements.

• Translated the management’s vision of modern technical services into a sustainable strategic plan for the AB Group and enabled the development and creation of strategic partnership with other MRO’s that help deliver cost effective technical services in line with the regulatory requirements.

• Developed a long and a short term plan and budget for the resources required to deliver the strategic vision technical service and got management approval.

• Directed the development and continuous review of technical service levels and KPI’s in all areas of technical operations ( e.g. Line Maintenance; Base Maintenance, Aircraft Specification, Aircrafts appearance etc. ) in line with strategic business plans and objectives thus positioning AB as a world class carrier of choice.

 Nov 2005 – June 2014 Built up and leads Etihad’s technical operations division and

develops it from a startup to a word class organization with nearly 1000 employees. Responsible for a safe worldwide technical operation of Etihad’s modern Fleet of more than 100 Aircrafts from Boeing and Airbus.
