Name and contact details 1.Personal profile This sells you so make it short and snappy and ensure that it reads as if you are the nest at what you do without lying 2.Education Give a list, but makes sure that you say what a degree offers, for example if you say that you have an MSc you should tell an employer what that means, so; MSc in management- the level 7 degree descriptors state that those holding a degree at this level have developed critically writing reading and analysis skills etc. 3.Career history Most recent jobs in detail (only 3 if you have lots) then a summary of the others- remember you have already mentioned your skills above, and anyone can list a job spec it doesn’t prove that they can do it. 4.Skills and achievements This list shows what you can do, and should be an accumulation of all the things you have done. For example; Excellent face to face communication skills; consistently top sales person for 3 years running You can keep a spread sheet of these and change them when you tailor the CV to jobs that you are applying for 5.Other relevant information Immigration status and maybe hobbies, but you don’t have to put marital status, religion, or photos. Big achievements that you are proud of personally but stay away from children etc No more than two pages- they won’t read it You can alter between number 2 and 3 depends on your preference to highlight.
