Employment History

30 March 2015 – Self-employed Freelance TrainerCurrently delivering the ‘Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care Level II’ as an Associate Trainer to FirstPoint Training, Durham; delivering courses from Newcastle and assessments as required by Highfield Awarding body for Compliance. I previously, delivered the above course and assessments in association with e-Response, delivering from Newcastle and Durham.

Using a variety of learning methods, tailored to meet individual and group needs, I take great pride in providing learning, guidance, support and assessment to adults who have been unemployed for some time in order to assist them to secure employment in the Health and Social Care sector. I am currently in the process of registering with HSBC (Highfield awarding body for compliance)

Evaluation feedback has been excellent and it is a pleasure to assist people to achieve, what is often, a life-long ambition. This ambition comes to fruition through a partnership arrangement that is a three-way-process: a) an employment agency recruits the learners b) they work in partnership with a training company who in turn, employs the Associate Trainer to deliver the training and assessments c) on successfully completing the course and achieving the qualification, the learners are referred back to the employment agency who will then secure interviews and/or work placements and will also provide ongoing support and additional training as required by each individual.

Delivery is on an ‘as and when required’ basis and at the end of each course, I am proud of my contribution and proud of my learners achievements.

I am also skilled and experienced in delivering and assessing a variety of additional courses (as detailed above). Agencies I have worked with are identified by logo at the end of this CV.

November 2013 - current: Board Member - ART Studio, Sunderland. The Art Studio is a charitable organisation based in Sunderland which has provided an inspiring model of engagement between Art and Mental Health for over twenty five years and exists to provide opportunities for people affected by significant mental health problems to work alongside professional artists, exploring their creative potential and developing confidence and self-esteem in a non-stigmatising environment.

The Art Studio has made a significant contribution to the lives of numerous people threatened by social exclusion and I am proud to be a Voluntary Board Director.
