Objectives:

Developing student autonomy in scientific research, both at professional level and in terms of

producing knowledge, introducing students to basic research routines.

Prerequisites: None

Programme: The programmed contents focus on the operationalisation of the specific scientific

research procedures in sport and cover all aspects, from the hypothesis to the conclusions and

research report writing.

Teaching methodology: Classes are a place of excellence for students to learn how to handle

concepts, principles, conditions, limits, procedures and interpretations of all research

procedures. Simultaneously, classes aim to help students resolve problems resulting from the

implementation of a research project through the completion of project forms at each stage of

the research.

Assessment: Students are submitted to two tests with both theoretical and practical content in

order to assess their cognitive and practical skills. The student may also deliver a field project

(optional) focusing on any part of the subject’s programme.

Each assessment element has the same weight in the final mark, yet no individual mark below

10 (on a scale of 0 to 20) is acceptable.

- Contacting with leisure activity promoting companies/bodies; - Promoting the follow-up of leisure project development and implementation; - Endowing the trainee with an opportunity to consolidate his/her scientific-pedagogical

knowledge and to combine theory with practise; Prerequisites: None

Programme:

As this subject favours essentially interaction with the institution where the student is carrying out his/her traineeship, a fixed and closed programme cannot be set. The subject’s main objectives are the application of knowledge acquired during the first two study years and new experiences relating to the projects which are to be developed by the host institutions during the traineeship. Therefore, throughout the year, the student is required to accompany the technicians of the institutions where they are carrying out the traineeship in their project programming and implementation tasks. This subject does not require student responsibility for project implementation; rather he/she is expected to accompany each step from project design to project assessment, including implementation. This is merely an observation traineeship.
