1990 through September 1999. Responsible for the Wildlife Division's Waterfowl, Wetlands and Sandhill Crane Management Programs in the High Plains and Rolling Plains of Texas (77 counties). Served as leader of waterfowl, wetlands, and sandhill crane activities, issues, research, surveys, training, and habitat acquisition and development, within a team approach to Panhandle Regulatory District (56 counties) and Wildlife Management Area operations. Conducted strategic planning for and implementation of Texas's responsibilities pertaining to the Playa Lakes Joint Venture of the North American Waterfowl Management Plan. Represented the region and state on committees pertaining to migratory birds, other wildlife, and habitat. Served as contract administrator/STR on contracts with universities and construction companies. Provided information, including addressing concerns, to the public, media and natural resource professionals regarding all phases of the waterfowl, wetlands, and sandhill crane management programs through oral presentations, interviews, field days, and seminars, and through news releases and popular and technical articles and reports.
