Have mentored and continue to mentor Dr. Juanita Gamez Vargas, former doctoral advisee at TAMU and current Assistant Professor at the University of Oklahoma. While at TAMU and later, supervised her professional development during 2003-2005; co-authored with her in 2013. Student’s activities included making presentations in organized classes, conducting literature and other searches for research and publication, and other activities designed to further her development. Co-presented and co-authored conference papers with Vargas. Also nominated Gamez Vargas as AAHE (American Association for Higher Education) Fellow; student was selected for this competitive fellowship for March 2005 conference.
