SKILLS

IT Skills – Confident with all Microsoft programs including Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, I have regularly used these skills throughout my educational life, in particular on placement where I regularly had to use pivot tables/charts to analyse data.

Business skills – Communicated well with customers and colleagues confidently face to face throughout my time at IBM, on the checkout at Fultons and via the phone at ML Badges. Analytical and open minded as proven by my First in Marketing Analysis, I present ideas well and am a keen researcher.

Creativity – Ability to plan time schedules for a task i.e. marketing analysis group assignment and generate innovative ideas. I often use Gantt charts and Excel to create an accurate time plan in which to follow.

Problem Solving – I am able to foresee issues that could arise when completing a task and implement alternate plans if necessary, by preparing early.

Team Player – I am able to work well in teams being a keen footballer. My experience in group projects such as the Lionheart and Eureka challenges has also improved my skills.

Communication – Confident communicator with individuals at all levels and departments of the business hierarchy and had regular interaction with the Finance Director at IBM.

Organisation– I pride myself on time management being organised and formative. I work well under pressure, managing my workload to ensure that I meet deadlines, as proven by my success so far at University and on placement whilst working to tight deadlines.

INTERESTS & ACHIEVEMENTS

Football – I have played football regularly from a young age for School and college, often as Captain of the team. I won player of the year 5 times, 2 Calderdale league titles and 2 Calderdale cups. I am currently playing for Clifton Rangers FC. This has significantly improved my social and leadership skills through succeeding as a team particularly in roles where I had to encourage others and identify their strengths and weaknesses which were very fulfilling.

CAREER HISTORY

IBM June 2014 – July 2015- I had multiple roles during my time at IBM due to changes in demand. My first role was Global Technology Services (GTS) consolidations Finance and planning analyst and my main responsibilities were to create/ change step charts and consolidate decks for the GTS Director of Finance’s weekly review calls with the Chief Financial Officers of each line of business within GTS. The second of my roles was as a Technology Software Services Hardware Cost Analyst where my accountabilities included tracking and processing vouchers, completing the weekly day’s sales outstanding report, gross spend report and balance sheet review. My final role was on the WPP account where my main tasks were to track invoices and update the headcount for the employees working on the account.

Jack Fultons, September 2012 to June 2014 – Working on a part time basis as a store assistant. This job has given me the experience of serving customers on the checkout and also of regular face to face interaction with customers. It has also given me a further opportunity to control stock use my initiative and solve problems which I am always eager to do.

ML Badges & More Limited, 2008 to 2012 –Working at ML Badges & More Limited in Mirfield during School/College holidays on a casual basis as and when required. I have packed and processed customer orders, helped with stock control and general maintenance and office duties. This involved either working as a team or independently to meet set deadlines.

Football coaching, 2009-2010 -Taking charge of voluntary football training sessions for local children on a Friday night to help within the community and further develop my communication and leadership skills.

Rastrick High School & Sixth Form College Senior Citizens Annual Christmas Party 2011 -Voluntary work at the senior citizens Christmas party, setting up tables, serving drinks and food whilst looking after guests. This experience enhanced my communication skills.

Business 2010-2012 -Other business experience includes being part of a team in various different business challenges/competitions throughout School and College in which I was often team leader, these competitions include the lion heart challenge, Eureka challenge in Birmingham and the Northern Rail challenge in Bradford. My teams reached the final stages of all competitions.
