Voluntary Work: May 2015 – Current Volunteer at Barchester Manor Care Home, Wadhurst, East Sussex
I finished University in May 2015 and for the first time in eight years I was presented with a relatively free summer. I have a passion for charity work but unfortunately I have not had a decent amount of time to dedicate to it. I now volunteer a couple of days a week at one of the local care homes. My main role is to support the staff with the residents who suffer with dementia. I believe it is important to make the residents feel as at home as possible. I help
take them on trips, play games and just keep them company. It has been a very humbling experience so far and I believe that everyone should give something back to the community at some point in their lives.
