LAB TECHNIQUE LEARNED DURING MY DEGREE

Aseptic technique and the use of pipets and micropipettes for bacterial isolation and cultivation.

To identify a microscope, the micro-technique being used, and prepare microscopy lamellae with specimens.

Use a balance correctly and the importance of knowing the percent of uncertainty each one possess.

Make dilutions according to the specific molarity or quantity required. Dissect organism properly in order to study a specific part of their system. Isolation of DNA and further analysis applying techniques such as

electrophoreses and PCR.

Bioinformatics technique to enhance Genomics understanding of bacteriophages.

SKILLS

Teamwork - I have been constantly exposed to work with people to deliver a project, in the academic and non-academic environments.

Communicative skills- Oral and written communication skills in Spanish and English.

RESEARCH EXPERIENCE Research Initiative for Scientific Enhancement Program (RISE): June thru May

2014. The course is dedicated for students interested in Biomedical Research and will enforce essential laboratory skills and techniques in areas such as Genetics, Molecular Biology, Microbiology and Chemistry among other sciences.
