Destruyen casi un millar de máquinas

tragamonedas ilegales

Con la presencia de la ministra de Comercio

Exterior y Turismo, Mercedes Aráoz, se destruyó

hoy un total de 973 máquinas tragamonedas

ilegales que fueron decomisadas en

establecimientos no autorizados en todo el país.

Esas máquinas funcionaban en bodegas, librerías,

farmacias, mercados y salas de juego instaladas cerca de

diversos centros educativos, exponiendo principalmente a los

niños y jóvenes al juego patológico o ludopatía.

La actividad de Juegos de Casino y Maquinas

Tragamonedas es tolerada por el Estado peruano, pero

conforme a ley debe ser fiscalizada por el Ministerio de

Comercio Exterior y Turismo (Mincetur) con el fin de evitar

consecuencias negativas en la seguridad y salud pública.

La ministra afirmó que en el Perú hay más de 500 salas de

casinos y tragamonedas que funcionan gracias a medidas

cautelares, como las acciones de amparo que bloquean la

acción fiscalizadora del Mincetur.

Aráoz refirió que las únicas salas de juego autorizadas son

las que funcionan en hoteles de cinco estrellas y las que

operan en las condiciones establecidas en la ley.

be beneficial for the State through the taxes generated, the facts suggest the serious consequences that may result for adults, youth, families and communities, in case the problems associated with the pathological gambling were not actually identified.

number of factors: psychological, sociocultural, economical, judicial, criminological , and politician. These factors must be taken into account by

multidisciplinary teams for its proper understanding and approach, applying the necessary strategies (preventive, educational, legal, fiscal control, supervision and

repression) in order to maximize its benefits in terms of actual tax percentages for the social welfare, health, education, recreation, and culture, and lessening its negative effects on the population.

This approach must be performed by skilled professionals from all the disciplines involved.
