Curriculum Outline
Program Structure and Courses
In order to be awarded the LLB degree, students must complete a total of 125
credits: 30 credits from General Education Courses, 89 credits from Specialized
Courses and 6 credits from any course offered by Thammasat University
(Optional Courses). The program structure and courses are detailed below.
General Education Courses (30 credits)
Of the 30 credits, a minimum of 21 credits are from the following compulsory
General Education Courses:
(1) TU 110 Integrated Humanities (2 credits)
(2) TU 100 Civic Education (3 credits)
(3) TU 120 Integrated Social Sciences (2 credits)
(4) TU 130 Integrated Sciences and Technology (2 credits)
(5) TU 152 Fundamental Mathematics (3 credits)
(6) TU 153 General Concept of Computer (3 credits)
(7) TU 155 Elementary Statistics (3 credits)
(8) Language courses, namely TH 160 Basic Thai (3 credits), TH 161
Thai Usage (3 credits), EL 070 English Course 1 (0 credit), EL 171
English Course 2 (3 credits) and EL 172 English Course 3 (3 credits).
Exemptions are granted to those who can prove a certain level of
proficiency in English or Thai.
Another 9 credits must be obtained from the following courses:
(1) EE 210 Introductory Economics (3 credits)
(2) LB 150 Fundamental Rights (3 credits)
(3) TU 143 Man and Environment (3 credits)
(4) TU 113 Fundamentals of Philosophy and Religions (3 credits)
(5) TU 117 Development of the Modern World (3 credits)
(6) AS 125 Introduction to ASEAN (3 credits).
Specialized Courses (89 credits)
Specialized Courses are subdivided into Compulsory Courses and Designated
Optional Courses. Students must complete a minimum of 41 credits from the
Compulsory Courses listed below.

(3) LB 260 Skills in Legal Language : Research Writing and Presentation ( 3
credits)
(4) LB 200 Obligations: General Principles (3 credits)
(5) LB 201 Wrongful Acts, Management of Affairs Without Mandate and
Undue Enrichment (3 credits)
(6) LB 202 Property Law (3 credits)
(7) LB 210 Principles of Criminal Law (3 credits)
(8) LB 250 Introduction to Public Law (3 credits)
(9) LB 251 Constitutional Law (3 credits)
(10) LB 361 Legal Methodology (3 credits)

Students need 48 more credits from Designated Optional courses which are
categorized into Business Law Courses and Non-business Law courses. Of the
48 credits, 36 credits are from the former and another 12 credits from the latter.

Optional Courses (6 credits)
Students can freely choose any course conducted in English and offered by any
faculty of Thammasat University to collect a minimum of 6 credits. Under
certain circumstances, the language courses listed under the General Education
Courses above may be regarded as Optional Courses. However, the following
courses are excluded:
(1) LB 169, LB 209 and LB 249;
(2) Any fundamental mathematics and science courses;
(3) Any General Courses with the course code TU; and
(4) TH 162 and TH 163.
