Homework• Homework should be neat and completed on time
• Students will be allowed to make up homework for excused absences
• When students have a prearranged absence (a family vacation, wedding, out-of-town, etc...), they are responsible for making up all of their missed work and assignments.
• Students will be responsible for writing down all of their homework in their planners at the end of each day.
• All of my homework is posted on my website (most of the time)
Homework
• It is important that students keep up with their passport
• It is important that students learn good organizational skills and remember to complete their homework and put it in their homework folder so they can turn it in the next day.
• We expect all our students to take all of their work seriously and to do their best to try and complete an assignment.
• We want our students to succeed!
Testing • Students will get prior
notice for all major tests.
• We will review for tests in class
• Students will be expected to study for tests at home as well
• It is important that students develop good study habits
Grading Scale• A: 93-100• B: 85-92• C: 77-84• D: 70-76• F: Below 69• As stipulated by the WSFCS
Accelerated Reader• We want to encourage students to
read as much non-fiction as possible since the majority of the EOG is non-fiction selections
Class Rules• Students have been made aware of
the rules and procedures of the classroom
• Students are expected to follow these procedures at all times
• Respect yourself and others.• Always try your best!
Projects• State Project• Science Fair Project• Reading Projects
– In relation to novels• Mini-Projects
– Social studies• United States history
– Writing assignments**Students will always be given sufficient class
time and notice to work on mini projects**
Field Trips
• Camp Hanes– October 19th-21st – We will leave around 8:00– Students cannot ride the bus with their
lugguage. Please make arrangements to drop them off at school at normal school time
– Please pick your child up at the First Baptist Church at 2:00 on the 21st.

– September 28th and 29th – January 12th and 13th

Parties/Celebrations• We may have small parties at the
end of the quarter• We may also have parties around
the holidays• If we need anything, grade parents
