SOFTWARE EXPERIENCE Competed at the Facebook Global Finals Hackathon in the fall of 2016, where my team advanced to the final round as one of

the top eight teams. My role in the hackathon involved building the desktop application in electron, developing a separate nodejs server to handle communication between our applications, and deploying the server.

Interned at Thomson Reuters during the summer of 2016, where I began the summer as part of a 2 person team developing a runtime configurable content management system. My initial role involved transforming the front end from Java Server Pages (JSP) into AngularJS and building import/export functionality into the server side of our application. After completing these tasks, the project went into production, two additional interns joined our team, and I was made team lead for the project. My team and I then raised the unit test coverage by over 66%, rearchitected our Spring-boot server to a DDD structure, upgraded the web api to be a level 2 RESTful API, and fully prepared the application for deployment into AWS.

Competed in HackTx during the fall of 2015, where I won Microsoft’s Spirit award for mentoring 4 freshman Computer Science majors during the competition. The following year in the fall of 2016, I competed at HackTx with another team and we won 3rd place, Best UX, Best Use of Microsoft Technology, Facebook’s Best Open and Connected Hack, as well as several other awards.

In the summer of 2016 I was captain of the team that won Most Innovative Hack at Thomson Reuter’s Hackfest. During the hackathon I designed the architecture of the application, handled the cloud deployments, and built in the ability to use S3 storage, as well as adding basic voice transcription capabilities.

Interned at @hand during the summer of 2015, where I worked in a three-person team in a SCRUM environment. I developed a contest voting application, administrative website, and prototyped an asset tracking application for their Saphron product using AngularJS within the Ionic framework.

Collaborated in a three-person team during the spring of 2015, in order to develop an intuitive motion based steering mechanism for UT’s Segway Robots using ROS, C++, and a Kinect Sensor.

Mentored by a Sr. Software Engineer from Southwest Airlines during my senior year of high-school. He coached me on professional programming practices by aiding my development of a Java mobile application, which utilized a RESTful API in order to create a movie and theater search tool.
