Exterior Assembly Technician Foreman / Production Manager $15.61 – 18.40 per hour

Purpose:

This position will work to ensure exterior components of rail cars are installed to meet customer

specifications and timelines.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist with uncovering and moving car shells into building and lifting cars to appropriate heights

for production activities.

• Properly install fiberglass, ceramic, and/or intumescent insulation into car parts which include:

side panels, roof, floor and sub-floor spaces.

• Install insulation for covers and wire supports.

• Install all conduit, copper and galvanized pipes.

• Install cab area brackets for equipment and wire mounting by drilling, tapping, and riveting.

• Foil tape all seams of insulation to ensure no insulation is exposed.

• Properly install flooring, sub-flooring, doors, windshields, windows, mirrors, lights and

thresholds onto cars.

Flooring will include: propulsion inverter, knife switch, air reservoirs, and auxiliary

power units.

• Properly install all roof equipment: pantograph, HVAC and brake resisters.

• Perform work with precision and to customer specifications.

• Perform re-works on squawks as needed.

• Will be required to perform other duties as assigned in Final Assembly manufacturing plant.

Purpose:

This position will work assisting the maintenance of the Final Assembly (FA) plant in Palmdale. Will ensure that plant

equipment: cranes, pumps, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC equipment is operating properly.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Support efforts with sub-contractors while setting up equipment during the construction phase.

• Assist in repairing and/or replacing faulty lighting, ballasts, and switches in the office and warehouse areas.

• Assist in repairing or replacing piping associated with compressed air, water, and sewer lines for the facility.

• Assist production teams with trouble-shooting and repair of equipment in a timely manner.

• Perform preventative maintenance in an ongoing basis.

• Perform corrective maintenance as needed.

• Maintain and manage tools, supplies, and equipment that are assigned.

Requirements:

• Ability to lift 25 pounds over head.

instructions to build the following and other rail car components:

• Panels, doors, lockers, ceiling ducts, walls, cab desk, and windshields.

• Will have above average knowledge of various components and parts in sub-assembly.

• Will ensure that workers have all necessary parts in order to maintain delivery and keep with

production schedule.

• Ensure that Work Instructions are up to date and on the floor in department.

• Will ensure that ENs are completed in a timely manner and meet quality specs prior to being

stamped.

• Will be ensure teams meet quality assurance specifications, standards and requirements as

outlined by QA and customer.

performed on car body wiring and their electrical/mechanical components.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Write reports and conduct procedural testing and inspections on LRVs.

• Maintain documents of all tests pending and completed.

• Test electrical, pneumatic, and software related functions of light rail vehicles (LRVs) in a timely manner as

established by production schedule.

• Troubleshoot electrical mechanical and pneumatic systems for possible issues.

• Disconnect and reconnect electrical plugs, connectors, and wires from electrical equipment, components and/or

boards in preparation for wiring continuity.

• Remove and reinstall equipment and ensures that all nuts and bolts are properly installed and torqued.

• Interpret and understand B902 and B901 Electrical Diagrams/ Drawings, also C401 mechanical drawings.

• Carry out visual inspections on all electrical/mechanical equipment and components including car body wiring.

• Responsible for updating test procedures (check sheets) and ensures necessary modifications are performed.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Upload all applicable software on equipment on LRVs.

• Test wiring continuity on car body wires installed on P3010 vehicles in a timely manner as established by

• Perform dielectric strengths tests and insulation measurement on a car body wires installed on P3010 vehicles.

• Ensure all electrical and mechanical open items are addressed and closed out on each rail

Safety Coordinator General Manager $18.00 - 22.00 per hour

Purpose:

Coordinate all safety training, investigations, meetings, remedies, and activities for Palmdale Manufacturing and Final Assembly site.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine inspections of facility, tools, and working conditions to ensure we are in

compliance with all state and federal regulations.

• Write reports detailing inspection process and findings. Make prompt recommendations of

corrective actions for any safety violations, issues or concern that are found.

• Make recommendations on safety equipment, gear and supplies for the workplace.

• Stay up to date on state and federal regulations and advise manager of impending changes.

• Train new hires and current employees in safety procedures.

• Revise company safety handbook to incorporate changes as approved by manager.

• Coordinate and run emergency drills to ensure employee readiness.

• Work with various external departments (fire, police, etc.), to ensure preparedness for

emergent situations.

• Immediately address workplace related injuries including coordination of medical treatment and

initiating Workers’ Compensation for and with HR department.

• Coordinate random drug screenings on a routine basis.

• Coordinate all pre-employment drug/alcohol and physical screenings for new hires and advise

HR of fitness for duty.

Requirements:

• Demonstrate a broad knowledge of state and federal guidelines for the workplace.

• Strong leadership and organizational skills.

• Must be able to work in manufacturing environment that may pose threats during emergency

situations.

• Excellent computer skills and verbal/written communication skills.

• Must be able to maintain a calm and cool-headed during emergent situations.

• Possess knowledge of accident/incident investigations

Position: Sub-Assembly Technician Report to: Foreman / Production Manager Salary: $DOE

Purpose:

This position will work to ensure all pre-production components needed for rail car production are

assembled to meet specifications and timeline as determined by contract and customer.

Primary Responsibilities:

Properly assemble using hand, pneumatic, and power tools according to blue prints and work

instructions to build the following and other rail car components:

• Panels, doors, lockers, ceiling ducts, circuit breakers, skirts, cab desk, frames, light supports, and

other builds assembled in department.

• Will become knowledgeable with various components and parts in sub-assembly.

• Ability to make determination of when to order parts in order to maintain delivery and keep

with production schedule.

• Will be able to meet quality assurance specifications, standards and requirements as outlined by

QA and customer.

• Will be required to perform other duties as assigned in Final Assembly manufacturing plant.

Requirements:

• Professional demeanor and ability to work with teams.

• Excellent communications skills.

• Ability to successfully pass background, drug and physical screenings.

• Knowledge and experience using hand, pneumatic and power tools including, but not limited to:

screwdrivers, drills, tapping guns, and riveters.

• Must be able to read, interpret and work from blueprints and work instructions.

• Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks and able to lift up to 50 pounds.

• Must be willing and able to work various shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed.

• Previous experience in fabrication and/or assembly.

TCA Assembly Technician

Position: Report to: Salary:

TCA Assembly Technician Foreman / Production Manager $15.61 – 18.40 per hour

Purpose:

This position will work to ensure trucks components of rail car are put together and installed to meet

customer specifications and timelines.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assembly and installation of truck components include but are not limited to the following

elements:

o Un-box frames.

o Build wire and install ATP Junction Box

o Build and wire main plug for each motor.

o Install and torque brake calipers.

o Install all air piping on all three frames and bolsters.

o Route all wires onto trucks.

o Lift frame with crane to mount on to axles.

o Install all lubricator brackets.

o Install all lubricators and sand nozzles.

o Install air suspension and piping.

o Install emergency track brake and run wires to main plug.

o Terminate all wiring into cannon plugs.

o Make adjustments to meet precise required measurements with various components.

o Perform any maintenance needed.

• Responsible for ensuring previously installed items are not damaged during production process.

• Follow blueprints and work instructions to assemble and install parts to ensure proper

installation in accordance with MTA guidelines and specifications.

• Installation of all truck wires ranging from 16 gauge to 4/O.

• Ensure that all working areas are cleaned up while working.

• Prepare and clean cars for inspections and final delivery to customer.

• Perform re-works on squawks as needed.

• Will be required to perform other duties as assigned in Final Assembly manufacturing plant.
