Listservs® Listserv®, Majordomo and related mailing list software have been used to create specific subject based mailing lists for years on the Internet. I have always considered mailing lists to offer one of the very best methods to stay current on your profession or business career. I personally still belong to hundreds of selected and niched mailing lists that keep me constantly current in key areas. NEWS AGGREGATORS AND RSS FEEDS News aggregators and the related RSS News Feeds are the backbone of WebLogs (Blogs) ability to disseminate the ongoing current awareness information to the Internet global community. Aggregating the key blogs that you are monitoring for current awareness and updates can now be created either by installed browser software called News Aggregators or you may use some of the brand new web applications that require no software installation on your computer. The latest News Aggregators read the RSS news feeds and can be updated by a click of a button or you may preprogram the news aggregator to update in certain time frames. The latest News Aggregators feature “auto-discovery” that allows the news aggregator to automatically discover the related RSS feed associated with the blog that you subscribe to.
