Take prescription and over-the-counter medicines to the free pharmaceutical drop-off at the Fulton County

Sheriff’s Dept., Rte 29, Johnstown. It is open 24-hours a day/7 days a week. Veterinary medicines, controlled

substances and samples are all accepted. No liquids or sharps (needles) allowed.

The Gloversville Police Dept. also has a pharmaceutical drop off, available 8 a.m.- 4 p.m. weekdays.

Another option is to put pills into dirt, old coffee grounds or dirty cat litter and dispose in regular

garbage. Do not flush pills down the toilet. Pill bottles should go into the garbage (not recycling).
