Leica PaveSmart 3D for Curb & Gutter
Providing a precise, smooth, accurate curb for new asphalt is crucial for the quality, rideability, service life and whole-life costs of the new asphalt surface. Installing stringline for curb applications is costly and time-consuming, especially for tight radius work
Traditionally requires pre-survey, hubs and data to be provided to thehubs and data to be provided to the stringline crew This can lead to mistakes, and significant remedial costs & timeWith Leica PaveSmart 3D, machine steer, elevation and cross slope are automatically controlled without stringlines gLeica PaveSmart 3D improves operational safety on site and increases productivity, accuracy and efficiency

Leica PaveSmart 3D for MillingLeica PaveSmart 3D improves operational safety on site, increases productivity, accuracy and efficiency.
Providing a precise, smooth, accurate foundation surface for new asphalt is crucial for the quality, rideability, service life and whole-life costs of the new asphalt surface.
High-precision milling is highly desirable, to minimise the cost of new asphalt.
Increasingly, modern roads are being re-engineered to meet higher traffic speed and axle-load demands. Milling machines are used to remove varying depths of material, or alter the surface levels, profile and drainage characteristic of the road surface.
Traditionally this is a complex, manual process, often requiring a great deal of pre-survey, and detailed manual road-design data to be provided to the machine crew at all times. This can lead to mistakes, over-milling and subsequently higher costs to reinstate more asphalt than is neededreinstate more asphalt than is needed.
Leica PaveSmart 3D measures the machine’s position and adjusts milling depth and cross-slope automatically.
Sideplate (yoyo regulated) milling depth control is also fully integrated

Why go “Stringless”? y g gCould your paving projects benefit from…
no marking-out and drilling to setup pins and guidewires?…no marking-out and drilling to setup pins and guidewires?
…easier paving in “zero clearance” situations, e.g. bridge decks, urban streets, railway cuttings, tunnels, narrow motorway lanes?
…no special access/safety equipment to pave in tunnels?
…no pre-production planning – just arrive, pave anywhere, any time?
…no human error from stringline setup?
…no inaccuracy of “field model” compared to original “office design”? y p g g
…lower material costs, improved concrete yield (less waste)?
Leica PaveSmart 3D v2.0 – Dec 2009 - 39
Why go “Stringless”? Because stringlines…
