Bob Madden has been carving stone for over 30 years. His work alternates between two major themes: works which explore our place in the universe, concepts of space, time, destiny, and chance, and the second major theme of interpersonal
relationships and the connections that bind people together.
Keeping in mind the quote from Scorates, " The unexamined life is not worth living," Madden aims to develop works which ask the viewer to look beyond themselves and see how they relate to the rest of humanity and where they fit in a larger universe.

Barbara Mink was born in Buffalo, New York and started painting in 1998. She studied with several prominent artists but is largely self taught. The daughter of an artist, she absorbed the love of creation, and went from watercolor botanical illustration to oil figurative painting to acrylics, inks and mixed media abstracts. A Summa cum Laude graduate of SUNY Buffalo, she moved to Ithaca, New York in 1976 where she pursued a PhD in Comparative Literature, she also holds a MA degree in History from Cornell University. Color plays an important part of her work. She explores processes that set different qualities of color, pigment, and texture against each other, even allowing for and embracing dissonance or jolie laide (“beautiful ugly”).”

Rachel Ostrow's paintings develops their form and character slowly through layers of improvisation. Paint is added and scraped away to expose the work underneath. This process creates forms that playfully skirt recognition and spaces with ambiguous depth. Although these paintings do not follow the rules of the natural visual world, they are far from pure abstraction. They use abstraction to be suggestive; to provoke thought and to engage the viewer's imagination.

About this series:The body of water is actually the reflecting pool of a building near where I live. It’s pretty small, kind of an unremarkable feature that I walk by almost every day. But as I started to document it over time, I found a sort of infinitely shifting range of atmospheric effects, recording time passing by at different scales, all contained within the surface of the water and the camera frame. In experimenting with the images I really liked how I could represent this feeling … the gridded, tightly bound composition has a strange beauty to it, but then you can get close and “read” the sequence of frames, almost like sentences.
Cheng Yang Lee was born in Malaysia and has lived in Buffalo since 2009, by first studying architecture and anthropology at the University at Buffalo. Not only an artist, Lee is also a curator, designer, and interpreter. She works in multiple media including photo, video, design, sculpture, and installation. Her work explores the notion of time - the sensation of passing time, the texture of time passing ... continuous time, broken time ... found time, lost time ... rituals, cycles, the eternal time of the present. She believes that boredom is an underexploited, universal condition.
