Reflection: Crunchy Munchy Goop

• 1. What was most difficult about these labs?

• 2. What steps did you take to figure out how much to measure of specific ingredients?

• 3. How was your teamwork affected by not having a recipe to follow? Or having a recipe but not specific measurements to rely on?

• 4. What did you learn about why it is important to follow recipes and have correct measurements?

• 5. How was the overall taste, texture, appearance of your product?

Conversion Factor in Recipes

• Problem: The following recipe makes 18 servings, but you only need 9 servings. How much do I need of each ingredient?

• Step 1: Conversion Factor Desired Original = 9/18 = ½

• Step 2: Use Recipe

• 1 c. flour in recipe (How much flour do I need now?)• 1 c. flour X ½ (conversion factor) = ½ c. flour
