2017 AACUHO StarRez Conference - January UpdateAs we kick off 2017, we take this opportunity to provide an update on happenings for the 2017 AACUHO StarRez Conference.  Thank you to those who contributed submissions for presenting at the Conference, these are currently being reviewed by our review panel, with the full program to be finalised by 15 February.  Excitement for the conference is certainly building with registrations arriving as well as sponsors and exhibitors confirming their support for what is promising to be another must attend event.

Institutional Membership Conference RegistrationRegistrations for the 2017 AACUHO StarRez Conference and the Pre-Conference Study Tour are now open.   Remember to take advantage of the conference registration which is included with all Institutional memberships.  To register for this, complete the individual registration via the website, but do not process payment.  Then email our Conference Manager, conference@aacuho.edu.au to advise the registration is the Institutional Membership registration.

Institutional membership registrations must be nominated before 28 March 2017.

Note: We have been advised there is another large (1,600 delegate) conference  in Hobart during the time of our Conference, so we recommend you book early to avoid disappointment.

Keynote Speaker Profile - Rob EdwardsThe Conference Program Committee is delighted to announce Rob Edwards as keynote speaker on Thursday 10 May.  Rob’s focus is simply to encourage people to take a brief time out in their busy lives to consider their most important asset - themselves. And to get you thinking about sustainable actions that deliver long-term quality of life outcomes.

Rob will present a key-note presentation on Thursday morning, as well as a Professional Development session - "Setting Goals That Really Matter" in the afternoon. Read more about Rob here.

 

Pre-Conference Study TourThe pre-conference Study Tour for the 2017 AACUHO StarRez Conference 'hits the road' from Wednesday 3 May and will tour a number of Melbourne accommodation facilities and local attractions, before a journey across Bass Strait on board the Spirit of Tasmania, arriving in the ‘Apple Isle’ on Saturday 6 May for a two day tour of the island state, before arriving in Hobart for the conference proper.

The  tour will continue in Hobart on Monday 8 May, and incorporate the traditional half day study tour, with visits to student accommodation facilities as well as local tourist attractions.

A fantastic opportunity to meet fellow delegates prior to the conference and get a feel for the residential arena in Australia prior to the conference.

All transport, accommodation and most meals are provided along with tours of campus accommodation and many recreational and cultural activities along the way.

2017 Conference Closing Dinner

The social highlight of the 2017 AACUHO StarRez Conference will be the conference closing dinner, to be held in the Derwent Room, Wrest Point Casino.  Guests will be transported to the venue by ferry, with canapes and drinks served on the short ferry ride.

In keeping with the dinner venue, the theme of the dinner is Casino Royale -  the stakes will be high and the fun even higher!  With all the thrills and glamour of James Bond's world, this promises to be a night of fun, with maybe a touch of 007-style scandal and intrigue!  

Start planning your themed outfit now!  There's sure to lots of black & white, a touch of red, and plenty of sequins, sparkle and feather boas!

Registration for the closing dinner is included in a full conference registration, however you do need to confirm attendance when registering.  Additional tickets can also be purchased as part of registration.

     

 

Sponsorship & Exhibition Opportunities AvailableThe 2017 AACUHO StarRez Conference Exhibition offers sponsors and exhibitors the opportunity to network with delegates at the Exhibition Opening on Monday evening as well as during the conference days Tuesday to Thursday, with all catering served within the exhibition area. The exhibition area at the Hotel Grand Chancellor will comfortably hold all exhibitors in the one area, with plenty of space for delegates to network.
