Cub Scout Pack 3078 celebrates 50 years

F.M. Dromgoole founded Cub Scout Pack 3078 of Eagle Lake in the 1940s. This year, the Pack was recog- nized for 50 years of active service.

Hundreds of Eagle Lake boys have, at one time or another, been ac- tive in the program since its creation.

The Pack has had over 25 Cubmas- ters. L.S. Tate served as Cubmaster the longest (1950-57).

Many other dedicated individuals have donated their time and talents as Den Leaders for the scouts.

The Eagle Lake Lions Club has been the Pack's sponsor from the very beginning.

Pack 3078 celebrated 50 years of active service at the Blue and Gold/ Pinewood Derby B anquet on March 7.

The program began with the post- ing of the colors and the parade of scouts.

Following the Pledge of Alle- giance, Cubmaster Mark Rotter wel- comed all present.

As Rotter stated, "I am happy to see everyone here tonight and not watching the movie Titanic. If you have seen the film for the third time or

Hortencia Ramirez drew a gag prize of a collection of record albums of the 1950-60s. She graciously ac- cepted them.

The presentation of the achieve- ment awards followed the dinner.

Andrew and Janice Magninat (Tiger Cub Den Leaders) presented Tiger Cub Pins and Certificates to: Dillan Gertson, Ronnie Gonzales, Bruno Flores, Garreth Casper, Wayne Cisneros and Joshua Gertson.

Sabina Rotter (Wolf Den Leader) presented the Wolf Badge to: Anthony Ramirez, Jeremy Gonzales, Anthony Banks, Eddie Losoya and James Allmond.

Paul Supak and Mark Rotter (Bear Den Leaders) presented the Bear Badge to: Shawn Politsch, Irving Pena, Clayton Bowen, Ethan Rezni- cek, Noe Diaz and John Supak. Bruno Rotter received the God and Country Award. John Supak also was pre- sented the Texas Badge Award.

The Pinewood Derby began fol- lowing the achievement awards.

Charles Abel and Larry Contreras were the evening's race officials and judges.

Andrew Magninat entertained the audience as Master of Ceremonies for the Derby.

The results of the race were: first place, Bruno Rotter (Bear), Jeremy Gonzales (Wolf), Bruno Flores (Ti- ger), and Mark Rotter (Adult). The first place winners qualified to race at
