Students who complete this course will be able to describe the internal components of a computer, assemble a computer system, install an operating system, and troubleshoot problems using system tools and diagnostic software. Students will also be able to connect to the Internet and share resources in a network environment. New topics included in this version cover laptops and portable devices, wireless connectivity, security, safety issues, environmental issues, and communication skills. The student would, upon successful completion of this course, receive the credits listed below, a certificate from Cisco Systems Networking Academy and a Focus on Information Technology (FIT) certificate from the Information and Communications Technology Council (ICTC). The skills acquired from this course will also help prepare students to write the Comp TIA A+ Certification exams from CompTIA if they so desire. Course Description: IT Essentials Cisco IT Essentials (5 credit) covers the fundamentals as well as advanced concepts of computer hardware and software. Students who complete this course will be able to describe the internal components of a computer, assemble a computer system, install an operating system, and troubleshoot problems using system tools and diagnostic software. Students will also be able to connect to the Internet and share resources in a network environment. New topics included in this version cover laptops and portable devices, wireless connectivity, security, safety issues, environmental issues, and communication skills.

The student would, upon successful completion of this course, receive the credits listed below, a certificate from Cisco Systems Networking Academy and a Focus on Information Technology (FIT) certificate from the Information and Communications Technology Council (ICTC). The skills acquired from this course will also help prepare students to write the Comp TIA A+ Certification exams from CompTIA if they so desire.

Coaching 1 - REC2120Course Description: Coaching 1 Coaching 1 students learn basic coaching skills common to all sports in the areas of planning and delivering a practice, teaching and learning, and mental skills training. Officiating - REC3130Course Description: Officiating Officiating students analyze the historical development of at least one specific sport, including an in-depth analysis of the rules of play. In addition, students analyze the roles and responsibilities of officials in sport and demonstrate officiating skills for a specific sport in simulated scenarios and actual practices and games.
