Lesson Implementation:

The lesson on states and capitals was implemented in the classroom of 34, fifth grade students.

•First, they were given a blank map of the United States and asked to label states. •Student interest was high in using computers, the internet, and other tools provided to them to enhance the learning of the 50 states and their capitals. •Began at the Welcome page (Home Room) and continued to Activities, etc.

Summary and Observations:

The students’ use of this lesson to meet the State standard was a success. The students were able to meet the objective with 80%+ passing the final test. Students’ interest was high in using the various tools (technologies) provided for them.

They completed state reports on 34 of the states. Each student selected a different state to report on.

I would use this lesson again.
