The Project Bulletin
The Project Bulletin is the
Center for SocialResponsibilitys (CSR)
initiative that aims to keepits stakeholders aware and
updated about its mostrecent projects.Furthermore, it is part of
the Centers commitmentto promote transparency
and accountability.
Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) has an external assurance process whichengages a group of individuals -- either prescribed by a professional assuranceagency or handpicked by the reporting organization -- from a pool of experts intheir respective fields to serve as third party assurers. This group is referred to asExternal Review Committee (ERC). Unlike other forms of assurance, this GRIactivity does not require the ERC to evaluate the performance of the reportingorganization. Instead, they endeavor to validate the veracity of the dataclaimed in an organizations sustainability report.
Pleased with the progress it has madesince its first reporting year in 2009, Petronis partnering with the UA&P Center forSocial Responsibility (CSR) for the externalassurance of its 2012 sustainability reportfor the third year in a row. Through thislatest engagement, Petron is affirming thatit is looking forward to further enhancing
the soundness of its report byincorporating suggestions made by theERC.
As host and lead institution in theassurance process, the UA&P-CSR istasked to assist in identifying and selectingthe members of the External ReviewCommittee. The Center will also serve as aliaison between Petron and the ERC to
ensure objectivity throughout theassurance process. This involvescoordinating, providing administrativeand logistical support, and ultimatelysupervising the work undertaken bymembers of the ERC.
