This season will be a feast for the ears and filled with famous guest artists and conductors from start to finish. It is a dream
come true to have world-renowned American pianist, Emanuel Ax, perform at our opening Masterworks. You will be impressed by the lineup of inspiring guest conductors such as JoAnn Falletta, Daniel Hege and Stuart Malina. Our Pops series will entertain audiences of all ages with the music of the great Broadway composers Rodgers & Hammerstein, who defined the American musical form, and Hollywood composer John Williams, whose scores have been a key ingredient of many of the biggest movie blockbusters of the last forty years. To help you get ready for the holidays, join the CSO Gospel Chorus for a hand-clapping, foot-stomping Gospel Christmas, or enjoy a more traditional Christmas musical offering from the CSO Chorus. In addition, we are pleased to announce a Chamber Orchestra series at the historic Dock Street Theatre. This new series, featuring some of the most beautiful works by Mozart, Haydn and Beethoven, will shine the spotlight on some of our own musicians as soloists. I sincerely hope you will enjoy hearing these exciting programs as much as we will performing them for you. Please don’t forget to check out our expanded chamber music and new-music offerings as well by visiting our website at www.charlestonsymphony.com
