RULES,REGULATIONSANDINSTRUCTIONSTOSTUDENTS

FORDOINGME/M.Tech/BE/BTechPROJECTWORKATCSIRSERC1.TheselectionofstudentsmadebyCSIRSERCforcarryingouttheprojectwork isprovisional,subjectto fulfilling the requirements and governed by the rules and regulations of CSIRSERC and can availthemselvesoftheprojectfortheperiodasspecifiedinourpermissionletter.2.Whilethedaytodayexecutionoftheprojectworkbythestudentsisprimarilyundertheguidanceofscientific/technicalguideofCSIRSERCasafacilitator,theresponsibilityforcompletionofthestudentprojectwithintheperiodstipulatedinthecurriculumoftheinstitution/collegerestsonthestudentandhisinstitution.3.Thestudentsshouldrecordallthedetailsofprojectwork inawellmaintainedRegisterwithregularscrutinybytheguide.4.Duringtheprojectperiod,studentsarerequiredtobeatCSIRSERCpremisesonallworkingdaysfrom9.00amto5.30pm.TheinstitutionmustprovidepriorinformationtoCSIRSERCifthestudentneedstoattend his/her college for any programmes/functions/allied curricular/cocurricular activities fallingwithintheprojectperiodallottedbyCSIRSERCtothestudent.(Thispreemptsunauthorizedabsenceofthestudentfromeitherplace.)5. Students canavail leaveofabsence,however,undergenuine circumstanceswithpriorpermissionfrom theguidewithdueendorsement from theHeadof theconcernedDepartment/Section/TeamofCSIRSERC. The related intimation should be sent by the student to the concerned authority at theCollege/University.6.The students selected for theprojectworkare tomake theirownarrangements forboardingandlodging.NofinancialassistanceisprovidedbyCSIRSERC.7.WithintheCSIRSERCpremisesandduringworkhours,thestudentsshoulddisplayCSIRSERCidentitybadgeandalsocarrythecollegeidentitycard.8.Library facilityatCSIRSERC is limited to referencingonly.Borrowingofbooksand journalsarenotextendedtothestudents.However,photocopiesofresearch literaturefrom journalsmaybeobtainedfromtheLibraryonpaymentofnecessarycharges.Nophotocopyofbooksispermitted.9.IfanylossordamageisdonebythestudentstotheCSIRSERCproperty,thestudent/collegeshouldundertaketoshouldertheentireresponsibilityofpayingforthecostsofdamage.10.Experimentalworkistobecarriedoutonlyduringworkinghours.Intheeventofexperimentalworkundertaken for theprojectafterworkinghours, the students shouldnecessarilybe supervisedby theguide/anyotherauthorized regular staffofCSIRSERC.Studentsare required toexerciseutmost careand alertness while conducting lab experiments with machines etc. CSIRSERC is not to be heldresponsible for any injury/loss/damage thatmay occur to the students due to their carelessnessduringthetenureoftheirprojectwork.

11. Without proper advance intimation from the student, routed through the College/Universityauthority,no studentwillbepermitted toquit from theprojectworkatCSIRSERC.Violations in thisregard will be considered as a serious matter of indiscipline and may lead to blacklisting of theCollege/Institutionforfutureallotmentofprojectstostudents.12.Similarly,iftheprogressisnotsatisfactory,theconcernedstudentsmaybeadvisedbyCSIRSERCtodiscontinuetheprojectwork.(Sincestudentprojectswillbedovetailedto/emergefromtheongoingresearch programmes of CSIRSERC, inordinate delays arising, if any, from less than desirableproductivityofstudents,isunacceptable.)13.Thefinalprojectreportshouldbepreparedandsubmittedwithinthespecifiedperiodoftheproject.Theacknowledgementsrecorded intheprojectthesis/dissertationreportmustbe factual.TheprojectreportshouldcontainacertificationtotheworkcarriedoutbythestudentunderthecoguidanceofCSIRSERCScientist,dulysignedbytherespectiveguidefromCSIRSERC.14.TheCollegecertificates in theproject reportprescribedbyCollege/Universityshouldcategoricallyreflect thattheprojectworkwascarriedoutatCSIRSERCandprominentlyacknowledgethenameoftheCSIRSERCScientistwhohasguided.15. All copies of the report should be identical in all respects. Please note that the project reportprepared for the College/University and for CSIRSERC are identical in all respects. Two copies arerequiredtobesubmittedtoCSIRSERC.16.CSIRSERC/CSIRretainsallIntellectualPropertyRightsinpatents,designs,software,copyrightandpublications, ifany, thatmaybegeneratedduring thecourseofprojectwork.However,dependinguponthequantumandqualityofcontributionstotheoutcomefromtheprojectwork,thestudent/hisinternalguideatcollegemaybegivenduecreditinpublicationsetc.Intheeventofanydisputerising,thedecisionofDirector,CSIRSERCisfinalandisbindingonthestudent(s)andCollege/University.17. Any unauthorized presentation/publication of results of the project (during and after),with/without external guides name as coauthor, independently by the student/internal guide ofcollege,without any explicit permission/approval fromDirector, CSIRSERCwill not be acceptableunder any circumstances.
