IntroductionThe CSI-150 is a menu driven controller that employs today’s latest technology toprovide you with accurate batching and record keeping. This manual will guideyou through the operation of the CSI-150. Please read all instructions beforeoperating the CSI-150.

To power up the CSI-150 perform the following steps:1. Hold in the MENU key located on front panel of the CSI-150.2. Apply power to the CSI-150 while holding in the key.3. Release the MENU key.4. MAIN MENU Screen is displayed.

The CSI-150 must be configured to work with your particular system. The CSI-150 is preset in the factory to interface with the MFP 2100 grinder/mixer. How-ever, there are differences with every farm/business location and these presetvariables sometimes must be changed. Therefore, before you begin batching,assess your total system (mixer size, unload auger clean out time, preferred mixtime, designation of bins to ingredients, etc.) to determine how your CSI-150needs to be configured.

The MAIN MENU Screen which appears upon power-up is the primary screen inthe CSI-150. You may reach all other menus through this MAIN MENU.

The MAIN MENU Screen consists of four sub-menus. Each of these sub-menuscontains parameters for setting up, batching and recording rations for yourindividual needs. Each of these choices is explained below.

NOTE: If at any time you become “lost” in any of the sub-menus,repeatedly pressing the MENU key will return you to theMAIN MENU.

The memory of the CSI-150 should be cleared to prepare for your customizedinstallation. The following steps will lead you through the process.

WARNING: Please exercise caution when selecting these options in thefuture. Selecting YES will erase all previously storedinformation.

1. Select Option 4, SYSTEM on the MAIN MENU. See instructions above.The SYSTEM MENU appears on the display:

5. Select Option 6, CLR LOGGED ERRS. This command erases all loggedcommunication errors. The CSI-150 will now display:

6. Select Option 2, YES. The CSI will briefly display BUSY.... and then return tothe SYSTEM SETUP menu.

To select an option in the any of the CSI-150 menus, you must use thearrow keys. The ↑↑↑↑↑ and ↓↓↓↓↓ keys will scroll through the options vertically,and the ←←←←← and →→→→→ keys move horizontally across the screen when thereare two columns of options. Once the correct option is highlighted bythe blinking cursor (only the corresponding number will be highlighted,not the entire line), press ENTER to select that option.

This menu provides information about the SOFTWARE (EPROM) in the CSI-150: the Weigh-Tronix part number, revision level and date, and listing ofcontrol loop options. This menu is for reference only and cannot be edited.

3. Press MENU to return to the SYSTEM PARAMETERS Menu.

4. Select Option 2, GENERAL SYSTEM PARAMETERS. The CSI-150 will nowdisplay:

• The SURGE CLEAN parameter is programmed in seconds. It counts down thetime that the mill feed auger on the MFP-2100 surge tank runs AFTER thesurge tank minimum level switch is tripped. If you find that you still havematerial in your surge tank after grinding you can change this value by usingthe EDIT and ENTER keys (see instructions below). Factory default is 30.

To change a value, place the blinking cursor on the value using theARROW keys and then press EDIT. You may then enter in the newvalue by using the numbered keys. After you have entered thedesired value, press ENTER and the new value will be displayed.

• The GRIND TIME parameter is programmed in seconds. It is the maximumallowable grind time and begins counting down after the last main ingredientof a batch is loaded onto the main scale. If the grind time is too long or tooshort, you can EDIT this parameter and ENTER in a more suitable time(see instructions above). Factory default is 1500.

• The MIXER SIZE parameter is based upon the maximum number of tons of finished feed that will fit in your systems mixer. The parameter can be changedby using the EDIT and ENTER keys. Factory default is 1.0

• The BATCH# counts the total batches the CSI-150 has batched. Ifthe BATCH# counter is not set at 0, EDIT the amount and ENTER 0.

• The PHASES/GROUP parameter is the maximum number of phases per groupthat are available for display on the CSI-150. Each group can have many phases,but this parameter keeps only the current phases on the display.Factory default is 02.

• The UNITS parameter is used to select pounds (lb) or kilograms (kg). Tochange the units, press EDIT and the units will “toggle" each time the EDIT keyis pressed. You do not need to press ENTER. Factory default is 1b.

• The AUTO PRINT option prints out the batch data after completion of abatch. To enable or disable this feature, press EDIT and you will togglebetween ON and OFF. If you have a PC connected to the mill, leavethis option OFF. If you have a printer connected directly to the mill turn theAuto Print option ON. Make sure the printer is turned on and is set toON/LINE. Factory default is OFF.

• The FLUSH TIME parameter is programmed in milliseconds. The purpose ofthis parameter is to ensure the micros have completely dumped beforeallowing the entire target amount of the micro carrier (flush) ingredient to beloaded. It is only used if micro unload time will exceed the loading time of themicro carrier (flush) ingredient. To increase or decrease the amount of timethe carrier will load (flush) after the micros have finished dumping, use theEDIT and ENTER keys. Factory default is 8000. (8 seconds)

6. Select Option 3, INTERMEDIATE DRAFT PARAMETERS. These parametersrelate to the unloading of intermediate batches. Intermediate batches are allbatches prior to the final batch when doing multiple batching. For example, ifthe controller is programmed to make 4 batches, batches 1, 2, and 3 areintermediate. The CSI-150 will now display:

The values for UNLOAD FLOW and CYCLES shown above are the factorydefault settings. Increase or decrease the clean out time between intermediatebatches, by using the EDIT and ENTER keys.

The UNLOAD FLOW parameter is defined as the minimum flow rate (mea-sured in Lbs/Kgs per second) coming off the main scale before the controllerstarts counting down the cycles parameter. The CYCLES parameter is theminimum amount of time the controller must see the Unload Flow parameterbefore removing the main scale unload signal.

NOTE: If you divide the CYCLE number by two, you will arrive at thenumber of seconds. For example: 20 cycles = 10 seconds. With theunload flow set at 4 and cycles set at 20, the controller must see lessthan 4lbs/second leaving the mixer for at least 10 seconds before itwill close the gate for the next batch.

7. Press MENU to return to the SYSTEM PARAMETERS menu.

8. Select Option 4, FINAL DRAFT PARAMETERS. These parameters relate tothe unloading of a single batch or the final batch of multiple batching. Thedefinition for UNLOAD FLOW and CYCLES is the same as for intermediatedraft parameters. The CSI-150 will now display:

9. Press the MENU key twice to return to the SYSTEM SETUP menu.The CSI-150 will now display:

1. Select Option 2, MAIN SETUP. These parameters are used to set up theMAIN SCALE. The CSI-150 will now display:

• The # DECIMAL setting should be preset at the factory for your unit.However, if you have a special application, the number of decimal pointscan be changed using the EDIT and ENTER keys. Factory default is 00.

• The ZERO setting is the maximum weight allowed on the scale at the startof a batch. To make a change use EDIT and ENTER keys. Factory default is 100.

• The SETTLED and CYCLES settings are related as follows: the SETTLEDvariable is the flow rate the main ingredients have to be under before thescale settles. The CYCLES variable is the amount of time (remember 1 (one)cycle = .5 seconds) the scale is waiting for an ingredient to SETTLE. You maywant to process some feed to determine if some adjustment of thesevariables is in order. To change these variables use the EDIT and ENTER keys.

• The UNLOAD TOLERANCE setting is used to set the maximum weightallowed to remain on the scale at the end of the unloading cycle. To changethis variable use the EDIT and ENTER keys. Factory default is 20.

• The MIN TOL (MINIMUM TOLERANCE) setting is used to set the smallestallowable tolerance for the system. Any ingredient tolerances set smaller thanthis in the INGREDIENT I/O setup will be ignored. Also, because ingredienttolerances are proportional to batch size, any tolerances that fall below thissetting during partial batching will be ignored. Factory default is 2.

NOTE: Write down any changes in the SYSTEM VARIABLES DEFAULT LISTINGin the back of this manual and save for future reference.

2. Press MENU to return to the SYSTEM SETUP MENU.

If you do not have a MICRO SYSTEM skip this set of instructions.

1. Select Option 3, MICRO SETUP. These parameters are used to set up themicro scale. As with the MAIN SCALE SYSTEM SETUP menu, the variables arethe same only the settings are different. The CSI-150 will now display:

Again, if you find you have a change for any of the above variables, refer to thedefinitions presented for the MAIN SCALE SYSTEM SETUP in this manualbefore making changes. (Remember, if you are using metric measurements youshould adjust the setting accordingly. Then record any changes in the SYSTEMVARIABLES DEFAULT LISTING in the back of this manual.

2. Press MENU to return to the SYSTEM SETUP menu. You are now finishedwith the initial configuration of your CSI-150.

You may now begin entering ingredients into the CSI-150. If you have the MFPSoftware Package, you will now enter the ingredients, recipes, etc. using the PCkeyboard.

There are worksheets in the back of the manual to write down the ingredientinformation before you begin entering them in the CSI-150 or PC.

1. Select option 4, I/O SETUP. The CSI-150 will now display:

6. a. Using the ARROW keys, place the blinking cursor in the section entitledINGR. This is where you will enter the ingredient name.

b. Press EDIT. You may now enter an ingredient name up to 10 (ten)characters in length. Notice that the cursor is blinking. This tells you thatyou can only enter a letter of the alphabet as the first character. If you wishto start with a number, you simply press the A/N (ALPHA/NUMERIC) key.This key toggles between letters and numbers. When the cursor disappears,you can enter a number. Press the A/N key again to get the blinking cursorfor alphabet entry.

c. Key in the name of the first ingredient on your list.d. Press ENTER and your first ingredient is now entered.

Example:The following is an example of entering ingredients and configuring the CSI-150 tohandle these ingredients properly. Corn will be used as our first ingredient.

After following steps 1 - 6, we have entered the name “CORN” for our ingredi-ent:

If you need to delete an ingredient because it was entered wrong or is no longerbeing used, you may do so as follows.

1. Press MENU to return to the INGREDIENT I/O TABLE.

2. Place the blinking cursor on the ingredient line that requires change.

3. Press EDIT.

4. Select option 2, DELETE RECORD. This will erase the ingredient youselected in the INGREDIENT I/O TABLE.

NOTE: You will be able to delete any mistakes you may make by using option 2,DELETE RECORD. However, when an ingredient is used in a recipe, the ingredi-ent cannot be deleted until it is first deleted from the recipe. If, when deleting aningredient, the display reads “RECORD USED IN OTHER FILE. CANNOTDELETE” you will then know it exists in a recipe and must be deleted there first.

5. Press EDIT. The EDIT MENU returns.

6. You may now re-enter ingredients by selecting the INSERT RECORD Option.

1. Place the cursor next to the TYPE setting by using the arrow keys.

2. Press EDIT. MAIN will be the first ingredient type. Keep pressing the EDITkey until the type of ingredient you are entering is displayed. The types tochoose from are: MAIN, MICRO, HAND (system stops and waits foringredient to be loaded), N-HAND (non-stop, to be added while anotherMAIN is loading), and LIQUID.

NOTE: If you are pumping a liquid onto the main scale and weighing it, use MAINas the ingredient type. If you are pulsing the liquid with a flow meter and counter,use LIQUID as the ingredient type.

Example:For an example, we have made corn a MAIN ingredient. TheCSI-150 should now read:

1. Place the cursor next on the I/O section. The I/O number given to aningredient should match the number on the ingredient select switch on thedoor which manually controls that ingredient.Example:If corn is controlled by turning the ingredient select switch on the door toposition 2, then the ingredient corn should be entered with an I/O of 2.

2. Press EDIT. The CSI-150 will now display I/O: 255.3. Key in your I/O and press ENTER.

NOTE: If you happen to have a pulsed liquid ingredient, you will have to use amain I/O location and count the pulses from the flow meter to make itcompatible with the CSI-150. Weigh-Tronix offers this feature as anoption and can retro-fit any existing MFP 2100 to accommodatepulsed liquid ingredients.

HAND and N-HAND (non-stop hand adds - to be added w/mainingredient) do not need an I/O assigned to them. However, if youwant an acknowledgement from the mill (such as a light or buzzer),use a main ingredient I/O to activate the light or buzzer.

In our “corn” example, we will enter an I/O value of “2.” The CSI-150 will nowdisplay:

1. Place the cursor next to the TIME-OUT setting. This setting measures (inseconds) the maximum amount of time that the CSI-150 will wait for 10% ofan ingredient to show up as a weight on the main or micro scale. If the timeallowed is too short, the ingredient will time-out and an error will occurduring batching. If the time is too long, the augers or vibrators could berunning with no ingredient in them.

2. To change this value, use the EDIT and ENTER keys.

Example:For our example we have decided to leave the TIME-OUT at 60 seconds. Thedisplay on the CSI-150 should then read exactly as it does in the previousexample.

1. Place the cursor next to the PREACT setting. A preact is the time it takes aningredient (which is falling from an auger or a micro vibratory feeder) to reachthe scale after the auger or micro vibratory feeder is shut off. There willalways be material in “free-fall” after an ingredient is shut off and the CSI-150will automatically calculate this and update this value. Initially, however, youshould enter a value.

Preacts are calculated in milli-seconds (.001 of a second). A preact value of1000 = 1 second.

The initial set-up ingredients should all have a similar preact value assigned tothem. The factory preset value is 1000.

2. Press EDIT. The display will now show PREACT: 01000.

3. Enter in the calculated or assumed value of the preact. Remember, theCSI-150 uses this value only as a starting point, so the batching accuracy willimprove as the controller “learns” the actual preact of each ingredient. Forour corn example, we have entered a value of 1000 (1 second). After completing a few batches, you should record the actual preact of each ingredient forfuture reference.

4. Press ENTER and the CSI-150 will now display:

1. Place the cursor next to the FLOW RATE section. The flow rate is defined asthe amount of pounds or kilograms per second that is being brought on to themain or micro scale. Different types of motors and augers establish differentflow rates. Consult your literature on the main ingredient augers to see if anycalculations have been done on amount of material per second. The CSI-150will automatically adjust this rate after the first run, but to help avoid over-shoots on the first batch, flow rate information should be entered for theinitial setup. After completing a few batches, you should record the actualflow rate of each ingredient for future reference.

The under tolerance (uTOL) and over tolerance (oTOL) are limits that will beused by the CSI-150 to determine when acceptable ingredient amounts have beenloaded. For our corn sample we entered an over/under tolerance of 2 lbs. Thetolerance settings you give an ingredient will also be displayed later as defaultswhen entering a recipe. A tolerance of 2% of the ingredient target amount isrecommended as a starting point.

If the ingredient you entered is a pulsed liquid, you must install a flow meteringdevice and the number of pulses (per pound or kilogram) must be entered here.Contact the Weigh-Tronix Service or Engineering Department at 1-800-533-0456for more information.

NOTE: The pulse setting is for a liquid ingredient measured in gallons/liters only!Liquids are typically pumped onto the scale and entered as a MAIN ingredient andnot a LIQUID.

You may print out a listing of the ingredients after you have entered your data.The CSI-150 is compatible with any SERIAL 80 column printer which can bepurchased at most electronics and computer stores. The recommended printer isan Epson LX 300 with a serial port. Press the MENU key until the INGREDIENTSETUP MENU is displayed. Select Option 2, PRINT INGREDIENT I/Os. The next step is to enter the micro carrier ingredient. The micro carrier is aningredient you choose that will activate the micro unload and help carry themicros into the mixer. The most commonly used micro carrier is soymeal.

NOTE: If you have a recipe with micro ingredients, a carrier must be specified.If you don't have micro ingredients in a recipe, skip this step and do not enter acarrier ingredient. Also, a carrier cannot be substituted while batching.

WARNING: Do not use a micro ingredient as a micro carrier. Also, do nothave the micro carrier ingredient entered more than once in any recipe. Inmultiple batching situations this would cause the micros to be doubled in onebatch.

1. Place the flashing cursor next to the MICRO CARRIER setting.

The delay ingredient option is a programmable delay that can be entered to“count-down” the seconds until the ingredient is added to the batch. A delayingredient and delay time do not have to be entered if you do not wish to havethem in your recipe.

To enter a delay ingredient:1. Place the flashing cursor beside the DELAY INGR.

2. Press EDIT. The Ingredient ID Table is displayed.

3. Select the ingredient you wish to delay before it comes on the scale by movingthe cursor to it.

This is the table from which you will enter ingredients into your recipe. Beforedoing so, keep the following information in mind:

Your recipes should be divided between MICROS (if your system has them) andMAINS. You can enter the recipe ingredients in any order, but remember thatthe order in which you enter them in the recipe is the order that they will loadonto the scales during batching. You can enter an ingredient more than once in arecipe except for the micro carrier ingredient which must be entered only onetime in the recipe.

NOTE: You must designate a carrier ingredient in RECIPE SETTINGS if youhave micros in your recipe. If you have no micros, do not use a carrier. If weightcoming on from an ingredient (main/micro) is under tolerance, the CSI-150 will“JOG” (start-stop) the ingredient up to a maximum of 10 times before an error isdisplayed.

The main ingredients and micro ingredients will both be batched at the same time,but the main ingredient designated as a micro carrier will wait (if required) for themicros to load into the micro hopper.

2. Place the cursor on the line titled ~END~.

After keying in the desired amounts, pressMENU to return to the Recipe Ingredient Table.

8. Continue to enter your ingredients using the step outlined.NOTE: Place the cursor on the ~END~ line before pressing EDIT andinserting a record so that the order of the ingredients is the way you want it.

After entering all your recipes you can either print them out individually or all atonce. Use the MENU key to back up to the RECIPE SETUP MENU. SelectOption 2, PRINT ALL RECIPES. The recipes will then be printed out.

If at any time you wish to halt the printing, press the MENU key. The CSI-150 willthen display: PRINTING DISCONTINUED.

If you wish to print out a single recipe, you can do so by selecting Option 3,PRINT RECIPE from the setup menu for that recipe.

After entering in the ingredients and recipes, the destinations (if your MFP 2100is equipped with them) are the next thing to be entered. Once again, you shouldwrite down the destinations and their descriptions to help you trough the entryprocess.

Note: The CSI-150 internal ROM software only recognizes destination 1 as the"PDS" destination. This only applies if your installation is equipped with a "PDS"control panel.

7. Using the ARROW keys and the EDIT key, enter the desired values forthe I/O and TIME-OUT parameters. The I/O number given to a destinationshould match the number on the DESTINATION SELECT switch that manuallycontrols that destination. The CSI-150 will display an error message if a destination cannot be automatically selected within your designated TIME-OUT period.

8. Enter in the rest of your destinations the same as above.

Press the MENU key until you reach the DESTINATION SETUP MENU. If you areequipped with a 80 column SERIAL printer you may select option 2, PRINTDESTINATION I/Os. Your CSI-150 will display PRINTING DESTINATIONSat the same time your printer is printing them out.

After feeding a certain amount of feed to a specific group you may wish to moveto a different recipe and feed that ration for a certain weight range. You canenter up to 99 different phases for each of your groups.

After deciding what phase you want to start at, EDIT and ENTER the currentPHASE#:. When you SEQUENCE and DEMAND batch, this PHASE# will be thereference point for the ration being batched.

Press MENU, which will bring you to the GROUP MENU of the group name youhave just entered. The CSI-150 will now display:

The sequential and demand batching setup is done in the DAY PROGRAM SETUP.

In sequential batching, if there are certain groups that you batch every day, youcan set-up a “file” of these groups and automatically sequence through the list.This eliminates the entry process for these groups.

Demand Batching is used only in conjunction with the PDS 3200 panel. Afterentering the various locations and their accompanying recipes, any low level binswitch signal (empty bin) will automatically start the MFP 2100, make, and delivera batch for that location as long as the location is entered in the demand file.

You can set the number of batches anywhere from 0.5 to 99.9. Place the cursoron the BATCHES entry and press EDIT. Enter the desired amount and pressENTER. Observe that your TARGET amount has also changed. The only othervariable that you are able to change is the STATUS. When you have the STATUSENABLED you are able to BATCH this sequential file. If you press EDIT while thecursor is on the STATUS setting the ENABLED and DISABLED are toggled. If youtoggle the status to disable, that sequential file will be skipped.

If you have a certain order to the SEQUENTIALLY BATCHED GROUPS, enteryour first group and then place the cursor on the ~END~line before pressingEDIT. This insures the order of your batches.

Move the cursor down to the LOC (LOCATIONS) setting and press EDIT. TheLOCATION ID TABLE will now be displayed.

Move the cursor to the location of choice and press ENTER. If you do not wishto select a location (without PDS) you do not have to. After you make yourselection, the RATION BATCHING menu will reappear.

Move the cursor over to the GRP (GROUP) setting and press EDIT. TheGROUP ID TABLE will be displayed. Select the GROUP you wish to use. Aswith the other ID TABLES, you do not have to use a group.

Before pressing BATCH START, make sure that the key on the front panel of theMFP-2100 is in the AUTOMATIC position and all the toggle switches are in theOFF or CLOSED position and the green system power lamp is on.

Press BATCH START. The CSI-150 will now switch the controls to AUTO-MATIC and start the BATCHING process.

When in the BATCHING mode, you can stop the BATCH by using any of thefollowing methods:1) press BATCH STOP and the CSI-150 will stop batching immediately. Or, if

pressed while material is being ground, will allow the mill to clean out beforeshutting down.

2) press BATCH HOLD and the system stops after the MIX TIME has expired,leaving the batch in the mix tank awaiting unload. If you make multiple batchesand have micro ingredients already in the micro hopper for the next ton/tonne,BATCH HOLD will stop the system only after that batch has been mixed.

After the batch stops and you wish to restart, press BATCH HOLD again and the“blinking” HOLD in the upper right hand corner of the CSI-150 will disappear.Or select Option 2 of the ERROR SHUT DOWN menu (CLEAR HOLD &RESTART).

3) press the EMERGENCY OFF button and the entire system will shut downimmediately.

If an error occurs, the CSI-150 will display the following options:

The first thing to do is analyze why the error occurred. If an ingredient ran out orbridged, correct the situation. Press the ALARM ACK key. The title of themenu will change to ACKNOWLEDGED ERROR SHUT DOWN. Thisdisables the alarm function and now you can SELECT the option that will bestsolve the problem.

If, after pressing the ALARM ACK key, you select option 1, RESTART BATCH,the CSI-150 will re-start batching from where the error occured.If you wish to substitute an INGREDIENT, press BATCH STOP and select option3, SUBSTITUTE INGREDIENT. A listing of INGREDIENTS will be displayed andyou can select a SUBSTITUTE from that listing.

CAUTION: If you select Option 4, ABORT BATCH, you will not be able toreturn in AUTOMATIC to the point you just left in your batch. If you have feed“in process” you will have to finish the batch MANUALLY.

By pressing the SCALE MONITOR key, you can see how the batching process isprogressing. The MAIN SCALE BATCHING MONITOR and MICRO SCALEBATCHING MONITOR will be “toggled” by pressing the SCALE MONITOR key.By pressing the SYSTEM MONITOR key, you can see how many batches are leftand what you are actually batching.

After the batch is unloaded, the message BATCH COMPLETED will be displayed.

Press BATCH START and the CSI-150 will start sequence batching. After theCSI-150 has gone through the sequential batching file listings it will stop, unlike indemand batching where the CSI-150 constantly goes through the demand filelisting looking for low bin signals from the PDS.

If you have a PC Package, you can start your sequential file from the PC byselecting Option 3, REMOTE PC CONTROLLED BATCHING. Afterselecting Option 3, the CSI-150 will display: WARNING! REMOTE PCCONTROL ENABLED. SYSTEM CAN START ANYTIME. By using theF4 key on the PC, you can automatically start a sequential (or in demand, ademand file) to batch.

The Personal Computer software package, available from Weigh-Tronix, enhancesthe features of the CSI-150. With this PC package, extensive data managementand charts/graphs features are all included. The operator can use the computerfor other tasks while the CSI-150 takes over batching duties. The PC Programmust be running for monitoring and updating to take place.

The PC ignores any data entered (by hand) in the CSI-150 (recipes, ingredients,groups, locations, phases etc). Therefore any data that is downloaded to the CSI-150 by the PC software package and then changed by the CSI-150 will not berecognized and might be “over-written” the next time a download is done. Thismeans that the PC is the “master” and the CSI-150 is the “slave.” Downloading isthe process the PC software package goes through to transfer data from the PCto the CSI-150 and to retrieve the completed batch information.

To observe the downloading process in the CSI-150:

1. From the MAIN MENU select Option 4, SYSTEM. The CSI-150 will display theSYSTEM MENU.

2. Select Option 4, DIAGNOSTICS. The CSI-150 will now display:

5. Press MENU to return to the COMMUNICATIONS DIAGNOSTICS MENU.

7. Select Option 2, YES. The CSI-150 will briefly display BUSY...and then returnto the COMMUNICATIONS DIAGNOSTICS MENU. The file that “collects”any communication errors between the PC and the CSI-150 has now beencleared. (A listing and explanation of these “ERROR CODES” follows.)

Error Codes:In the COMMUNICATIONS DIAGNOSTICS Menu select option 1,LOGGED ERRORS. A listing of numbers entitled LOGGED COMMUNICATIONS ERRORS will appear.

The first two digits (of a group of four) starting at 0100 and ending at 2100represent an error that could occur during communications between the CSI-150and the PC.

The next two digits are a counter that counts (up to 99) the number of timesthe error occurs. For example, 0107 would signify that a DATA RECORDWAS SENT WITHOUT A START and it happened 7 times. Below is a listing ofthe first two digits and their definitions:

Within the MFP PC SOFTWARE PACKAGE, there is a routine that will nowmonitor the data being sent by the CSI-150.

A four conductor shielded cable has to be strung from the location of the PC tothe location of the CSI-150. Any distance over 75' will require the purchase of a“SHORT HAUL MODEM” (interface driver) available from Weigh-Tronix.

NOTE: Keep cable away from sources of AC power (when running cable) as thiscan cause interference problems. If buried, this cable should be protected with plastic conduit to prevent breakage.

The connections to the PC and the MFP 2100 control enclosure can be made bythe dealer or Weigh-Tronix personnel.

Monitoring (observing the batching process on the PC) of the MFP-2100 can bedone through the PC software package. The same information that appears on theSYSTEM MONITOR screen will be displayed on the PC screen. Consult the MFPPC software operators manual for information regarding this feature.

Control Loop Error Communications loop not configured properly or disconnected. Make sure switches areset properly on A6, A9, A14 cards. Make sure all communication loop cables aresecurely plugged in at both ends. Make sure all relay cards have power to them.

DC/Auger Control Error DC/Auger feedback not detected by controller. Check K56 relay for proper opera-tion. Check for tripped breaker or blown fuses. Check manual operation ofsurge tank auger control circuit.

Destination ID is Not PDS Destination I/O not 0 or 1(see Destination Settings on pages 17, 18). Destination I/O for PDS must be 1 if destination card is installed or 0 if destination card is notinstalled.

Gate Control Error Unload gate feedback does not match gate position. Make sure nothing is blockingthe gate from opening or closing. Make sure switch is being tripped in both theopen and closed positions. Check manual operation of the gate control circuit.

Grind Time ExceededGrind Time Seconds Hammer mill surge tank low level was not detected within Grind Time seconds(see

Surge Clean on page 4). Make sure material is not hanging up on proximityswitch. Make sure surge tank auger is turning freely and running at normal speed.Make sure hammers and screen are not excessively worn.

Ingredient ID Failed After 10 Attempts Ingredient failed to reach the target amount within 10 jog attempts. Make sure theingredient bin or hopper is not empty. Make sure the ingredient is not bridging ortunneling. Make sure the ingredient auger or vibratory feeder is functioningproperly.

Ingredient ID Out of Tolerance Amount of ingredient loaded is not within the ingredient TOLERANCE parameters(seeIngredient Tolerances on page 11 and also page 16). Make sure ingredient flowssmoothly and is not full of clumps. Make sure auger drive belts are not slipping.

Insufficient Flow of Ingredient ID 10% of the ingredient target amount was not loaded within the TIMEOUT secondsparameter (see Ingredient Time-Out on page 9). Make sure there are no obstruc-tions where the ingredient enters the scale. Make sure the ingredient bin orhopper is not empty. Make sure the ingredient is not bridging or tunneling.Check the manual operation of the ingredient loading control circuit.

Main Scale Error Controller is not receiving weight transmission from the Main Scale indicator. Make surecable between the controller and scale indicator is securely plugged in at bothends. Press SCALE MONITOR on the controller to determine if the CSI-150 istracking the weight reading of the scale indicator.

Main Scale Not Settling Motion on the scale exceeded the SETTLED parameter for 60 seconds(see Main ScaleSetup parameters on page 6). Check for any mechanical bind on the scale such astight auger connections, conduit connections, or liquid fat lines. Check for objectsresting on, leaning on, or jammed above or beneath the scale. Protect the scalefrom wind exposure.
