Purpose (from Brad)Purpose (from Brad)
The central question is to what extent should IT
services be aggregated and why? If there is an
affirmative answer to aggregation, then the
second question is through what models should
IT services be aggregated, provisioned, and
governed?

Maybe the questions are:• Who do you want to collaborate with? No one, your peers,
or anyone (it doesn’t matter)?• How much risk and effort are you willing to assume?• How important is it that the service be exactly the way you
want it or tightly integrated with your existing infrastructure?

What we’re going to doWhat we’re going to do
• Explore the possibility that there are services that we can
collaboratively offer and manage together for our common good…
• Take some focused dives into prospective shared services. We
have institutions willing to offer a service and institutions
considering consuming that same service. The goal will be to roll
up our sleeves and determine whether there is a candidate shared
service offering and on what terms, i.e., basic service
definition/SLA, candidate provider(s) and subscriber(s), and
assessment of readiness to contract for services within 3 months,
6 months, 12 months, 18 months, etc.)
