The Course is recognised in Western Australia as the premier awareness training module for the safe use of chemicals in the workplace that are Dangerous Goods and Hazardous Substances. It is used by many of the major mining and resource companies as part of their induction training. In 2019 the course has been amended and updated to reflect the new legislation in Australia that has been introduced covering the GHS (Global Harmonisation System) and one hour of the course covers new requirements on Chemical Labelling, Classification and Material Safety Data Sheet Management. Course Objectives The course aims to provide employees with a key understanding of how to work safely with Dangerous Goods and Hazardous Substances in the workplace and covers the following key aspects: • Legislation • Chemical Hazards • Material Safety Data Sheets • PPE • Labelling • Placarding and Signage • Dealing with an Incident • Risk Assessments • Segregation • Warehousing • Transport Requirements 2019 Public Course Dates The Course will be run at our training facilities in Jandakot on the following dates through 2019: • January 24th • February 21st • March 21st • April 25th • May 23rd • June 20th • July 25th • August 22nd • September 19th • October 24th • November 21st • December 12th Alternatively our training can be run at your site – please call for details.
