CRU Maximization Procedures (There are no HFSI or NVM values that can be adjusted for the drum or fuser unit on these models) 1. The drum life and fuser life indicator on the display can be reset by the use of replacement CRUMS. These will allow us to extend the life of the drum and or fuser for another full cycle. These may last the entire cycle but also may result in a earlier failure rate at which point the unit will need replacement. This will depend on the condition of the drum and or fuser when the CRUM is replaced. 2. Upon replacement the internal counter will be reset and the notification(s) will go away. 3. THE FUSER CRUM AND WEB MUST BE REPLACED TOGETHER to extend the life. 4. The CRUMS are speed sensitive so you must use the proper one for the model you are resetting. The webs are universal. The speed range cut-off is 32-55cpm and 55-87cpm. (the part numbers and ranges are shown below) 5. Before replacing the drum CRUM, run a sample copy to use as a reference to verify copy quality once the drum is reset. 6. Replace the following to reset the condition: Part numbers are from “The Parts Drop”

Fuser Orange “Web Pinch Roller” part number “C35FWPR” $16.50 from The Parts Drop.
Note: In the event that the warnings have expired and the machine is locked out, you can ensure that your customers can continue to use their machines while they are waiting for a replacement CRU to be delivered, a new "Snooze Alarm" feature has been developed. The Snooze Alarm will allow the customer to make another 5000 prints after entering a service code.
To enter the “Snooze Alarm” service code at the control panel:
1. Select the “Access” button.
2. Use the numerical keypad to enter *33886714351 for the Xerographic module or *33886724691 for
the Fuser module.
3. Open and close the front door. The “Replace the Xerographic/Fuser Module now” message will
clear and the machine will be able to make a further 5000 impressions.
4. The unit replacements and or CRUM resets will need to be done upon expiration of the additional
5000 prints
WC5790F
Enter CE mode
1. Select HFSI counter 2. Select the item you want to adjust 3. Select edit or reset 4. Enter the max number using the key pad 5. And then save
The follow HFSI's should be maxed out on the 57xx products:
• Post Fuser • Developer
Slow Scanning
For all having the reaction time when hitting the start button on these machines very slow... By entering into nvm at 14-113 setting it to 1, you will cut your button response in half. From 8-10 seconds to 4-5 seconds. It turns off the "scanner sleep mode" internal to these machines. Make sure that the software is at the latest general release

Scorotron Reset Procedure The charge scorotron assembly’s life can be reset by one of these two procedures. However, if the NVM
settings for the CC assemblies are set correctly, you should not need to perform this procedure.
Staple Method:
Use a small piece of tape across the center of the staple and attach it to the scorotron over the chip on the
back of the unit, be sure that it overlaps the 2 gold circle contacts. If you are using a unit without a chip, attach
it at the center of the spot where the chip would be.
Install the scorotron back onto the Black drum, close the machine and observe that the scorotron counter is
reset back to 100% life. If it does not reset you may need to adjust the staple slightly for better contact with the
springs inside the machine. Once the counter has reset, remove the staple and discard.
Paper Clip Method:
Remove the Black Drum unit, place a paper clip in the small cavity near the reset chip and ensure that it
crosses the two holes in the drum cartridge.
Replace the unit back into the machine, close the doors and observe that that scorotron counter is reset back
to 100%. Reopen the machine and remove the paper clip.
8
Auto Color Default settings.
When possible, the copier should NOT BE set up to “Auto Color” detect as this will rotate the color drums even when black copies are made. It should be set for black as the default
Also, when possible, The PRINT DRIVERS also SHOULD NOT be set up with “Auto Color” as the default, the default should be black
You should also install the Post Script driver whenever possible as the PCL driver even with Black set as the default and you send a black document will cycle the color drums.

Phaser 7400 Phaser 7400 PCU reset procedure 1. There is a .0625 amp fuse inside the front cover of the PCU that will reset the counter.
2. The fuse can be ordered from any electronic supply company.
3. The manufacture is the Littelfuse Fuses company and the part number is 0251-062MXL.
4. I ordered the part from Mouser Electronics and their part numbest is 576-0251.062XLM they can be contacted at www.mouser.com or 1-800-346-6873
5. Although the fuse is inside the front cover you do not need to perform any disassembly to reset the counter. As shown in the photo below you just need to place the fuse across the 2 contacts on the outside of the unit.
6. I recommend that you leave the fuse on the PCU so the tech knows it has been reset previously.
7. The PCU has a cost of 85.00 and the fuse is .68 a savings of 84.00
