The future of loyalty is in its digitalisation and the automation of your connections to your members, your players and your guests. Clubs have an amazing platform of consumer data and that allows them to stand positioned as the leaders in responsible gaming loyalty.

10.30am MORNING TEA sponsored by MyClubCafe11.00am Financial returns on engaging community

– Grant Easterby How can your venue build customer visitation and

financial returns through your community support work? A strong & effective community engagement strategy ensures that the members, clients and families of the various community organisations supported by your club actually visit the club, spend money in the club and support the Club that supports them! In this presentation, Grant Easterby, CEO of Dee Why RSL Club, will outline how some of the actual costs of your grants and donations program can be offset by increased functions, membership, visitation and revenue.

What are the 9 steps to building an online community? When identifying specific target groups, how do we target those groups using Facebook and Twitter and Instagram? (Do we speak to retirees differently than hipsters?) What platform (Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat) works best for which audience? Are you on the right platform for your community? In this Workshop, renowned Social Media presenter, Laurel Papworth, will guide you through the key elements in successfully building online communities for your venue.

D: Counter The Competition – Francis Loughran The competitor landscape for dining is evolving. Pubs, Malls and the High Street continue to adopt an entrepreneurial approach to hospitality. 10.40am MORNING TEA sponsored by MyClubCafe11.10am Strengthening Public Perceptions:

Andrew Butler, Wilkinson Butler It’s easy to think that your members, guests and

potential new customers are the only stakeholders your club needs to care about. Yet there are others in your local community who play a crucial role in the sustainable and profitable operations of your club; without even stepping inside your doors.

Learn the importance of engaging with local print, online and broadcast media to reach and influence members of your local community who can make or break your club in your hour of need and help you grow. Head of Wilkinson Butler, Andrew Butler, advises some of Australia’s largest and trusted brands and organisations on building and protecting their reputations, amid rapid and complex change and crises.

11.55am SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKER: Gail O'Brien A0 Gail O'Brien AO is the wife of late celebrated

cancer surgeon, Professor Chris O'Brien AO. A health professional of 40 years, Gail trained in physiotherapy and is skilled in a diverse range of therapies including orthopaedic rehabilitation, gerontology, and women's health.

In 2002, Chris and Gail co-founded the Sydney Head and Neck Cancer Institute at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH)—Australia's first multidisciplinary head and neck cancer unit. Gail led the Institute's fundraising efforts for years. From 2003, Gail's fundraising expanded to the Sydney Cancer Centre based at RPAH, and Chris and Gail became the driving force behind a plan to transform the facility into a world-class comprehensive cancer centre. Tragically, in 2006, Chris was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. He died in 2009 and was honoured with a State Funeral. Since then, Gail maintained her commitment to improved cancer care and the establishment of the Chris O'Brien Lifehouse, which opened its doors in 2013, joining the Board and taking on the role of steward for the culture and vision of the Lifehouse.

Today, she continues to serve as an active member of the Board, public advocate and spokesperson, patron of the Bequest Society, and member of the Chris O'Brien Foundation. She works in the hospital on a day-to-day basis as patient advocate.
