PANEL RECRUITMENT

Panel members arerecruited via:

Registration is “double opt -in”.Panel members must be 18 andover, and be resident in the UK.

Crowdology™ operates onlineresearch communities in theUK. They are managed andcontrolled using proprietarycontrol principles. It adheresto Data Protection Act 1998and personal privacylegislation. Redshift Researchis a MRS Company Partner.

PANEL MANAGEMENT

Crowdology™ researchcommunities are usedsolely for market researchpurposes. They are not used formarketing purposes.

All members are required toupdate their personalprofiles, and encouraged to doso through regularcommunications andNewsletters.

Member satisfaction surveys areundertaken to better understandand engage with members.

Our surveys, or surveysundertaken by third parties arechecked to ensure minimumstandards of best practice inrespect of questionnaire design(e.g. Grid questions, length, etc).

Quarantine settings ensure mem-bers are not over surveyed, andreduces the risk of professionalrespondents. Sampling includeslow, medium and highresponders.

REGISTRATION CHECKS

Crowdology™ remove invalidemails addresses, and duplicateregistrations. All panellists are re-quired to have a UK bankaccount. Post registration checksinclude cleaning non participants,trap surveys and removingfraudulent respondents in surveys.

FRAUDULENT RESPONDENTSCHECKS

Rigorous and regular checks aremade to identify fraudulentRespondents and remove themfrom the panel. The followingactions are taken:

Trap surveys are an internalsurvey designed to identifyfraudulent respondents.Questions are framed to uncoverfraudulent responses, based on apoint system. Members whoscore a red flag based on theirerror points are removed fromthe panel.

Minimum checks for routinesurveys are undertaken tomonitor and remove respondentsfrom surveys for inappropriateanswers. E.g. Speeders (for com-pleting surveys too quickly) andstraight-liners (for selecting thesame answers in a row for gridquestions). Past offences aretaken into consideration todetermine eligibility.

SURVEY GOOD PRACTICE

Panel quality is linked to goodmanagement of the panel to en-sure members are fairly reward-ed, complete an acceptablenumber of surveys, and screenouts are kept to a minimum.Crowdology™ also ensure goodpractice in the use of engagingand efficient questionnaires (e.g.Restrict use of complex gridquestions, overly long surveysand use animation).

PRIVACY POLICY

Panel members’ personal infor-mation is managed in compli-ance with the Data Protection Act1998 and personal privacy legis-lation. Registered panel personalinformation is not disclosed tothird parties.
