Crosstown Parkway ExtEnsion DEsign/BuilD ProjECtfrom Manth Lane to U.S. 1City of Port St. Lucie
Welcome! The Crosstown Parkway Extension Design/Build Project involves providing a new bridge crossing over the North Fork of the St. Lucie River in the City of Port St. Lucie, connecting the existing Crosstown Parkway from Manth Lane to U.S. 1. The project extends along the existing West Virginia Drive, crossing over the North Fork of the St. Lucie River and connecting into U.S. 1 at Village Green Drive. The project is approximately two miles with the bridge being approximately 4,000 feet. This is a Design/Build project which combines the design phase of the project development with the construction phase. This type of project allows the City of Port St. Lucie to complete projects in less time and at a cost savings. Construction for the project is estimated to begin Mid 2016. The estimated design and construction costs for the project are $86.9 million.

Typical Section
Typical Section West of Floresta consists of three 12-foot travel lanes and a 14-foot outside shoulder, including a five-foot paved designated bicycle lane in each direction. Travel lanes are separated by a 32-foot raised landscaped median. Consistent with the Crosstown Parkway to the west, a wide area of green space with a wide pedestrian parkway will be constructed on both sides of the parkway within the right of way.
The bridge typical section consists of twin structures, each consisting of two 11-foot travel lanes, one 12-foot outside travel lane, a five-foot outside shoulder / bicycle lane, a two-foot, six-inch inside shoulder, a one-foot, six ½-inch inside traffic
barrier, a one-foot six-inch outside traffic barrier between the sidewalk and outside shoulder/bicycle lane, a six-foot sidewalk, a nine ½-inch pedestrian railing, and a two-inch gap between the structures.
East of the North Fork of the St. Lucie River, the proposed typical section consists of a six-lane cross section with three 12-foot travel lanes and a five-foot designated bicycle lane in each direction, separated by a 30-foot raised grassed median.
All Crosstown Parkway sections will include a six-lane divided roadway, four-foot bike lanes, six or eight-foot wide sidewalks, landscaping, up-lighting in medians, pedestrian and bridge lighting.
