(including you) …Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned, and
come short of the glory of God.”

be paid…Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death;
but the gift of God is eternal life through
Jesus Christ our Lord.”
FOURTH, realize Jesus Christ died to
pay your price…Romans 5:8, “But God commendeth his love
toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners,
Christ died for us.”

W hat do you think o when you hear the
word, “hope?” Perhaps you have heard
the word used in a recent conversation:
“With the housing market the way it is, I hope I don’t
lose my house!” In that context “hope” reers to
something that is very uncertain.
However, in Scripture
“hope” never reers tosomething uncertain.
It is, “a condent
expectation or trust in
someone or something.”
In act, we are repeatedly
encouraged throughout
the Bible to “hope in
the Lord.” We can condently expect God to do
what He says and trust Him to lead and guide us
well. Here at Crossroad Baptist Church we are
passionate about getting to know our God! The
more we get to know Him, the more “ull o hope”we will become. Come navigate lie’s crossroads
with us as we grow hopeul people, one lie at a
time!

ik?
H – Him frst – Hopeul people will put Christ
rst in their lives, marriages, riendships and
relationships because Colossians 1:18b
reminds us that our goal should be, “That in all
things He might have the preeminence.”
o – Others oriented – Hopeul people will be
concerned about the needs o others and
will take seriously Paul’s exhortation to theGalatians to, “Bear ye one another’s burdens,
and so ulll the law o Christ (6:2).” They
will ollow Christ’s supreme example as
stated in Philippians 2:3b, “...in lowliness o
mind let each esteem other better than
themselves...”
P – Prayer empowered – Hopeul people will
prioritize prayer as Ephesians 6:18 reminds
us, “Praying always with all prayer and
supplication in the Spirit...”
e – Evangelistic – Hopeul people will seek thelost with the compassion o Christ by ollowing
the Lord’s command in Mark 16:15, “Go ye into
all the world, and preach the gospel to every
creature.”
F - Filled with the Spirit – Hopeul people will
seek God’s power or daily living by being,
“lled with the Spirit,” (Ephesians 5:18b), which
will show in their walk, “Walk in the Spirit,
and ye shall not ulll the lust o the fesh.”
(Galatians 5:16)
u - United in purpose and direction – Hopeul
people seek unity in the church rather than
division as they endeavor, “to keep the unity o
the Spirit in the bond o peace,” (Ephesians 4:3)so that their testimony does not suer. “Behold,
how good and how pleasant it is or berthren to
dwell together in unity!” (Psalm 133:1)
l – Listening to the Word – Hopeul people will
make the Bible an essential part o their private
and public walk with the Lord by reading
and studying it personally and corporately.
Colossians 3:16a, “Let the word o Christ dwell
in you richly in all wisdom.” I Peter 2:2, “As
newborn babes, desire the sincere milk o theword, that ye may grow thereby:”
