The ProgrammeAre you interested in Human Rights profession and different perspectives in social work in other countries and other cultures? Does Europe appeal to your imagination and are you internationally focused? Do you want to study with and learn from students with a different international background? Do you want to deepen and broaden your knowledge of principles in social work and develop your vision on social work? If you do, this course “Crossing borders, Human Rights in Social work” is intended for you! The course is a 5 months’ study programme.
It starts every year in september and in february and takes place at Saxion University of Applied Sciences, School of Social Work. The course will start with a minimum of 10 students. Enroling is closing at the 1st of May or the 1st of November.
Course contentJointly with students from different countries, you will expand your practical skills and theoretical expertise in the professional field of Social Work during this course in which English is the official language. Diversity and integration are the key issues, whilst making use of the participants’ international experience and background. Focusing on new social work methods, the programme also pays attention to managerial topics.
Study Social Work in the Netherlands
In The Netherlands, we have a long tradition when it comes to social work and welfare.
Social work is developing in a more international perspective in the EU.
During 5 active and challenging months you will
broaden your perspective in Europe together with
fellow students, Dutch teachers with various
backgrounds such as social work, psychology,
sociology and law. And of course enjoy the beautiful
city of Enschede.

How we studyThe programme offers a variety of lectures, study groups, field visits, tutorials, project groups, written assignments and oral presentations. During your stay
you will get the opportunity to meet and interact with people from various social and ethnic backgrounds. People who have many different experiences and views regarding social work.

The course is open to 2nd, 3rd and 4th year Bachelor students in a Social Work programme who speak and write English at a B2 level.
