The Ramey harriers finished their alliance season with a junior varsity boy’s sub- championship, an All-Alliance runner and a near-record breaking 13 medal winners. As one of the smallest schools in the PRHSAA, the Ramey Harriers demonstrated all season long that they have what it takes to continue: Building A Tradition Of Excellence! (continued on page 2) VARSITY BOY’S SOCCER: MAKE HISTORY The Ramey Bombers Boys’ varsity soccer team had a history making season this year for Ramey School. The team was led by co-captains Alexander Hamilton, a returning senior defender and transfer senior forward, Samuel Brown. Samuel and Sophomore Gianfranco Orama led the team in scoring. The Bombers finished the regular season with a 6 - 4 record (wins/loss) record good enough for a 3rd place seeding in an extremely tough B-division. The team qualified for the PRHSAA Playoffs for the first time in over 30 years. During the quarterfinal match, the Bombers hosted Rosa Bell on Novem- ber 5, 2019 in front of a large home crowd. Rosa Bell was able to score late in the second half, knocking the Bombers out of the playoffs by a 0-1 score. The loss does not diminish how special the 2019 Ramey Varsity Boys’ Soccer squad was. The team chemistry, their resiliency, mutual desire to excel, and determination to be the best brought them together as a unit. The core of the team was composed of 14 seniors with a mixture of some very skilled sophomores and juniors. A truly special team and season for the Ramey Bombers’ Soccer Program. Go Ramey! (Cross Country continued from page 1)

Running as the top rated Division B school, our Girls 7th and 8th Grade team ran to a fourth place finish overall in the alliance. These young ladies demonstrated consistent improvement throughout the season and were led by Coral Ramos who paced the team with her record-

setting performance at championships. Along with Coral, both Taina Cardona and Ariadna Rodriguez, medaled in the championship meet.

Not to be outdone by the girls, the boys 7th and 8th grade team ran with heart and desire on their way to a fourth place finish in the Alli-ance, which ranked them #1 amongst all Division B schools. The squad was led by school record setter, Captain Yasiel Laboy, who along with Travis Anderson and Alex Rivera, earned medals on championship day. Capping an exceptional season on championship morning, our junior varsity boys squad brought home sub-championship honors for both the regular season and the championship meet. This squad earned four med-als by Luke Hamilton, Lucas Brannan and co-captains Carlo Ramos and Gianfranco Orama. Gianfranco, also crushed the previous school record

while running to a very memorable second place finish.

The Lady Bombers varsity squad was paced by their senior captain, Adriana Marrero, who continually ran to record setting performances all season long. Although this squad did not earn medals at championships, the team placed second-highest among all Division B schools and demonstrated great work ethic, superior commitment, and a team-first

attitude all season long.

Our varsity boys team also experienced tremendous success as the top Division B school and placing third overall. This team was led by junior captain Michael Velazquez, who crossed the finish line in 4th place in the champi-onship meet and earned All-Alliance honors as 1 of the top 7 runners in the PRHSAA. Other medalists for the Bombers included, Nico Proskauer and

Ryan Roettger.

Coach Cobb and Coach Roe-mer would like to extend a special thank-you to all of our athletes and our team parents for their help this season. As well as a special thank you to our man-

ager Carlos Cardona. GO RAMEY!
