This weekend we celebrate the Feast of Pentecost. We celebrate the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles. Jesus breathes on them, Receive the Holy Spirit. 50 Days ago, we celebrated Easter Sunday, that great day where he rose from the dead and which the church has been celebrating since. We must remind ourselves that we are the disciples now. When we come together, we come to listen to his word and try to put it into practice in our everyday lives. Let us not forget that we are in his presence whenever we celebrate the sacraments. So on this Pentecost Sunday let us continue to open ourselves to the Holy Spirit and renew ourselves to live out and teach the faith to the world

Special Collection This Weekend Bishop Strickland has requested a special collection for the people of Ecuador that has been in the news regarding the devastation and loss of lives from the earthquake on April 16, 2016. The reports indicate that more than 650 people have been killed and more than 27,000 people injured. The infra-structure has been destroyed and churches and parish structure are available to render aid. Please continue to keep the victims and their suffering in your prayers. Thank you.

World Youth Day Prayer Requests Our World Youth Day pilgrims are collecting prayer requests to take with them to Poland. We’ll be writing the prayers on cloth, and carrying them everywhere we go during our pilgrimage. We would love to pray for all of you while on the pilgrimage. Almost 60 pilgrims from the Diocese of Tyler will be attending WYD 2016 in Krakow.
