Crochet Jelly Bean Duck Abbreviations:

Things You Will Need:

• G crochet hook • Worsted weight yarn-yellow or off white (body), orange (beak) • Yarn needle • Scissors • Stuffing • 4/0 black snaps-two • Ruler • Jelly beans

Size: Approximately 4" tall. This crochet pattern does not include a gauge as it is not a pattern that requires a sized fit. Special Note: This pattern is worked in continuous rounds. Do not sl st to join. After working in the initial magic ring rounds, do not ch up. Head: Form a magic ring. Rnd 1: Ch 1, 6 sc in the ring. Pull the tail to close the center of the ring. (6 sc)

(12 sc) Rnd 14: *Sc in the first st, 2 sc in the next.* Repeat from * to * one time. Dec in the remaining sts. (10 sc) Rnd 15: Dec around. (5 sc) Sl st in the next st, fasten off with a tail for sewing. Using a yarn needle, weave the tail through the last round and cinch to close. Weave in the end. Stuff the body. Note: You will be removing the stuffing in the body after assembly.

Beak: Rnd 1: Using orange yarn, ch 4. Turn, 2 sc in the second ch from the hook, sc in the next, 4 sc in the last ch. Working around the opposite side of the ch, sc in the next ch, 2 sc in the next. (10 sc) Rnd 2: Sc in each st around. Sl st in the next st. Fasten off with a tail for sewing. Assembly:

1. Turn the body with the hole facing down. Place the head on top of the body. Line up the head behind Rnd 4 of the body. Using the yarn tail and a yarn needle, sew the opening of the head to the body.

2. Turn the duck with the front of the head facing you. Center the beak over Rnd 9 of

the head. Using the yarn tail and a yarn needle, sew the beak to the head. 3. Apply two dots of craft glue approximately 1/2" above the beak and 1/2" apart.

Center 4/0 black snaps over the glue. Allow the glue to dry.

4. Remove the stuffing in the body. Fill with jelly beans.
