Casing Row 1: Ch 21, turn. Sc in 2nd ch from the hook and in each ch across. (20 sc) Rows 2-5: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each sc across. Casing Edging: Sc around the casing in the same way as the body.

Finishing Step 1: Lay the body on your work surface. Count down the body from the buttonhole edge to Row 41. Turn the casing with the long edges running horizontal. Center the casing between the body's long edges. Place the top long edge of the casing over Row 41. Using matching yarn and a yarn needle, whip-stitch the long edges of the casing to the body. Do not stitch the short ends closed.

Step 2: Turn the body over with the casing on the back and the buttonhole edge at the top. Fold up the 22 rows from the bottom to form the pouch. Using matching yarn and a yarn needle, whip-stitch the sides of the pouch together.

Step 3: Fold the buttonhole edge down. This is the fanny pack flap. Place a pin on the pouch at the placement of the buttonhole. Fold the flap out of the way. Using yarn and and yarn needle, attach a 1" button to the pouch at the pin mark. Note: Do not sew the front and the back of the pouch together.

Step 4: Fold the flap down and close with the buttonhole and button. Thread a 1 1/2" inch wide or thinner belt through the casing on the back of the pack.
