!  Trash Palace designed by Wellington based architects Melling and Morse

!  Used sustainable and recycled materials

!  Most fittings are reused !  Energy systems used reduce harmful

environmental impacts

!  Roofing and Cladding is low maintenance, low impact material - organic fibres and bitumen made from recycled oil

!  Wooden structure untreated macrocarpa !  A sustainable timber – does not require oiling

or painting

!  Windows and door are reused

!  Passive solar design is incorporated into the Kids/ Entertainment Room

!  Solar Panels supply hot water to the centre !  Rainwater is collected in a water tank and

reused to flush toilets and for outside washing and landscaping.
