Continue…According to DGCA IndiGo, Jet Airways and its no-frill arm

JetKonnect charged an average of about 10-15 per cent higher fares than other airlines.

IndiGo took over Jet Airways in terms of market share four months ago, but in July it took over the Jet Airways Group, which includes its low-cost arm JetLite, flying 27% of the total Indian passengers as opposed to 26.6% flown by Jet.

IndiGo is now market leader after the Vijay Mallya’s failure.

Recent press release… IndiGo brings Ahmedabad closer to Delhi and Goa; launches new flights -Ahmedabad, February

01, 2012: IndiGo, India’s largest carrier is further enhancing its customer experience with the launch of new

flights on its network. Effective February 01, India’s favourite on time performer, will operate four daily and direct return flights between Ahmedabad and Delhi. The airline will now operate its first flight from Ahmedabad to Goa. The new flights are designed to cater to business and leisure travelers who are constantly on the lookout for new and affordable flying options.

These new services will further consolidate IndiGo’s position as the fastest growing airline in India, with its 303 flights connecting 31 destinations across the nation and abroad. Both corporate and leisure customers travelling from these destinations will now have the opportunity to experience the hassle-free, on-time performance that IndiGo is synonymous with.

Speaking on the occasion Aditya Ghosh, President, IndiGo said “Expanding operations in Ahmedabad is in line with our growth strategy outlined for the domestic skies. We have added fourth daily and direct flight on Ahmedabad & Delhi route, and will be operating a direct flight from Ahmedabad to Goa. We are looking at providing affordable fares on these new routes for 6E travelers.

Ghosh further added, “IndiGo brings with it new opportunities of employment and commerce to the people of Ahmedabad. With greater ease and affordability of air travel, all strata of society can now cease opportunities across the nation, whether it be to the north, south, east or west of Ahmedabad. IndiGo will continue to expand its network to meet the requirements of both business and leisure travelers wherever they demand it. It is our constant endeavour to provide more flexibility of choice for our customers as IndiGo continues to offer them on time, courteous and hassle free and always affordable flying experience”
