Brief History of Company

Park Termik A.Ş. is a member of Ciner Group of Companies. Ciner Group is one of the largest groups of Turkey, investments of which diversify into from mining to energy and from tourism to media. Majority of Park Elektrik shares other than publicly-held shares are held by real persons and legal entities in the group.

Power Plant

The 1st and 2nd units of Çayırhan Thermal Power Plant produce 150 MW and 3rd and 4th units produce 160 MW. Çayırhan Thermal Power Plant, which is the first privatized thermal power plant in Turkey, consists of 4 units.

What happened?

As an imaginary scenario there was an accident happened in the first unit of power plant and because of this accident great amount of ash blow out from the flue to the higher then 200 meters.

Calculations shows that with the wind and rain 225 Square kilometer intoxicated by ash.

One town and 9 villages directly effected by ash rains.

One lake, one bird sanctuary and farm lands effected.

Action Plan

First hour• Analyze the situation and damage.

• Calculate possible dissemination.

• Inform police, solider police, legal institutions and chamber of engineers.

• Release a brief information on web page.

In six hour• Setup a crisis management quarter• Companies representers, police, doctors, occupational safety

specialist, academicians, member of chamber of engineers.

• Setup a new team to manage power plant and assigned the previous team as an advisor.

• Press release about the current situation and inform them about the new twitter account #parktermikkrizmasası.

• Set up a PR specialist for twitter account and update account in15 minutes for current situation.

In 48 hour

• Press conference in Ankara.

• Take the responsibility.

• Declare all responsibles’ removed and assigned as advisor.

• Declare and guarantee about all journalists can report in contaminated area. We will support and provide them equipment's.

• Transport all people and livestock's to a safe place, provide them accommodation, food, healthcare and cash for basic needs.

• Provide journalists a building which can use as press center and rest house.

• Invite non-governmental and environmentalist organizations members to explain the situation and take their feedback.

• Prepare a program and start to clean all contaminated area with all labor power.

• Provide logistic support to bird sanctuary and farm lands.

• Compensate all sufferers loss.

• Finish cleaning.

• Eliminate all possible biases and concerns of environmental organizations.

• Organize a big symposium to discuss all process.

Symposium

• Invite all major journalists and columnist, Ankara representatives of media groups, all related governmental and non-governmental organizations, represents of METU, ITU and some specialist academicians from other universities, delegations from chambers of engineers, labor unions, specialist and experienced companies (Siemens, Austrian Energy Agency etc.) and all other components (or stakeholders) of our organization.

• Explain all damage and crisis management process in transparency. Let everybody ask any kind of question about the crisis at the second part of symposium.
