Canadian Swim Patrol Lifeguard preparation can begin at age 8…Canadian Swim Patrol training provides a head start for the Bronze Metal awards needed to become a certified National Lifeguard.
ProgressiveThe program consists of three levels or award crests: Rookie, Ranger & Star. Within each award crest there are three success seals focusing on Water Proficiency, First Aid and Recognition & Rescue.
ChallengingYoung swimmers will be challenged physically and mentally as they work through each seal to achieve distance & time bench marks that will prepare them for Bronze Star (see page 15 for the Lifeguard progression)
Self-PacedProgram is structured so that skills are successfully developed. Swimmers have the opportunity to spend as little or as much time as needed to accomplish their bench mark by working on different seals in all three levels at the same time.
