EASTER HAT PARADE NEXT FRIDAY 12th APRIL

It is that time of year again where the imaginations of our students, and some of our parents, can come alive as we design this year’s Easter Hat Parade creations. This year’s parade will take place at 10am next Friday morning and, as always, promises to be an event filled with colour, creativity and a little bit of chocolate. All are welcome to come along and join us in this event.

EASTER RAFFLE DONATIONS

Can you contribute to our Easter Raffle?? Our raffle prize box is filling but we would still love donations from families to make up raffle prizes for the Easter Raffle which will be drawn at the Easter Hat Parade on Friday 12th April.

Are you able to sell a book of 10 tickets? If so please add your details and send back to school and we will send you home a book of tickets. All tickets sold should be returned to school on Thursday 11th April. Tickets will be $2 each.

TROPPO BOB RESILIENCE SHOW

Students were entertained last Wednesday by Troppo Bob and his Resilience Show.

BIG VEGIE CRUNCH THURSDAY 4TH APRIL

Get ready for The Big Vegie Crunch! On Thursday 4th April at 10 am our school will be joining hundreds of schools across NSW to break the record for the most students crunching vegetables simultaneously.

But we need your help to make it a success!

What can you do to help? • Pack a container of vegetables (not fruit

this time) for your child to eat on Thursday 4th April

• Keep serving up the vegetables at home and in your children’s lunchboxes!

TEACHERS TAKE THE STAGE AGAIN FOR CHARITY

Last Saturday night Mr Edwards, Mr Dickinson and Mr Upcroft, who perform under the name .EDU played as part of a community fundraiser for the Belmore River Hall. They played alongside many local acts such as Kelly and Jess and the Roys. It was wonderful to be able to play for many of our students who were amongst the families who supported this event.

SPORT NEWS

PSSA CRICKET

An outstanding bowling display set up a thrilling finish in the Round 2 PSSA cricket match held in Wauchope last Tuesday. After losing the coin toss, Crescent Head were asked to bowl first and set about working their way through a strong Wauchope batting line up. After a solid start from Wauchope's batsmen, James Gunn broke through for the first wicket and, from that point, wickets fell regularly to have the home side all out for 61 runs. Alec Gorline-Singleman starred with the ball taking 4 wickets, with Chace Bryant collecting 3 wickets and James Gunn taking 2. Riley Moffit excelled in the field taking two excellent catches and Wilton Townsend also took a great catch. Crescent Head's run chase got off to a shaky start losing three quick wickets to some very fast and accurate pace bowling. Jimmy Buls (11), James Gunn (5) and Alec Gorline-Singleman (13 n.o.) were able to steady the innings and took Crescent Head's total to within touching distance of a memorable win, but ultimately they fell just 6 runs short. Congratulations to all players for a fantastic effort and thank you to our wonderful parents who assisted with transport and officiating on the day.

NRL 7S GALA DAY

Last Thursday, Crescent Head took six teams to Kempsey for the annual 7-a-side NRL gala day with teams competing in either tackle or tag divisions. It was great to see so many students who are relatively new to Rugby League having a go with most coming away with a smile on their faces and keen for their next opportunity. Well done to all teams and players for the excellent sportsmanship and teamwork shown throughout the day.
