• Zain used to cook meal for himself and for Andrew

• In the selection of people in Art Gallery only Whites have given preference

• On this matter they had a fight • Caused separation

• Upset & furious Andrew recalled Grandpa’s words

• “Don’t make friends other than WHITES, otherwise OTHER will show their real bloody face. Talk them till you get benefit, but kick them away when they think to get benefit from you”.

• Came back to home• Thinking of grandpa – who was in British army

in his lifetime• Opens his diary

• Timeline - 1945-46• Task of burning books of library • Packing of particular books• Convincing learned Muslims to migrate with

them • Kill the British spy

• Got to know his real aim• Went to friend• Re-established friendship• Promised – to help him in getting listed in Art

gallery• But on equal profit

• Zain got enough money to continue his studies

Andrew was known as the best painter of his time
