“Kindlyletmehelpyouoryouwilldrown,”saidthemonkeyputtingthefishsafelyupatree‘-AlanWatts.Workinginternationallyasdesignpractitioner,consultantandlecturer,Natalierepeatedlywitnessedthemachinationsandeffectsofindividualandorganisational‘monkeymind’.Convincedtheartscansignificantlyextendmodesofmind,in1999Natalieestablishedapioneeringdesignpracticededicatedtoart-basedlearning.Testedinlongtermprogramsoforganisationaldevelopment,andsupportedbydoctoralresearch,hermethodsrepeatedlyprovedabletoextendworkingsofmindandheart.Nataliefacilitateslearningprograms,anddesigns thinking tools and learning materials usedbyconsultantsandfacilitatorstobenefitthemselvesandtheirappliedpracticewithclients.Eightyearsago,afterparticipatinginanorganisationalL&DprogramcreatedandledbyNatalie,Jessadoptedthesetoolsandmethods,nowusingthemextensivelyasaconsultantandfacilitatorformorecreative,emergent outcomes.

My vocation is land and water management to realise sustainable communities based on one-earth.Over40yearstheneedtohusbandour land has grown as we find more ways toexploiteverdiminishingresources.Manyways have been tried to bring about lasting change;themostsuccessfulhavebeenthosewhichempowerpeopletotakecontroloftheir destiny though building community competencyandcapacityandtheuseofmanywaystoreachagreedgoals.Inshort,usingchangetosucceed.Mymissioninthepast 25yearshasbeentodevelopwaysandmeansto do this.
