1. DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITY
The competition is conducted for high school students only. This expo
is divided into two categories Responsible Citizen and Teenagers Invention.
Responsible Citizen emphasizes the importance of global awareness. Global
awareness is the understanding the concept of knowledge that affects the
environment, culture, social, political and economic relations. The rapid
development of science and technology has led to many environmental,
cultural, social, political and economic problems. In accordance with that, this
competition is to emphasize the next generation to use the science and
technology in right ways which would avoid the problem of environmental,
cultural, social, political and economic. Teenagers Invention is an expo that
foster high school students to engage in innovative culture where they need to
create innovations in a given theme.

2. COMPETITION RULES
2.1 Responsible Citizen:
This expo is in line with global awareness. Global awareness is the
understanding the concept of knowledge that affects the environment,
culture, social, political and economic relations. The rapid development
of science and technology has led to many environmental, cultural,
social, political and economic problems. So this expo is conducted to
emphasize students about the importance of global awareness and
nurture them to become responsible global citizens in the application of
science and technology in the right way.
2.1.1 Each group is required to prepare 1 (ONE) proposal on how to
use science and technology in the right way to avoid the
negative impact on environmental, cultural, social, political and
economic.
2.1.2 This expo fosters global awareness and the importance of
educating the next generation to be the responsible person in
solving global problems.
2.1.3 Encourage creative thinking among secondary school students
to solve global problems resulted from technology
developments.
2.1.4 Each group should consist of TWO students and ONE teacher
as a supervisor. The maximum number of entries for this
competition is of 64 groups.
2.1.5 Payment of fees is RM 20 per team. Students are given 15
minutes to present their proposal in Malay / English and 5
minutes to answer the question posed by the judge.
2.1.6 The maximum score is 100 %. Medals will be awarded based
on the percentage of marks obtained as follows :

GOLD : 80 % – 100%
SILVER : 65% – 79%
BRONZE : 55 % – 64%
CONSOLATION : 54% & BELOW
2.1.7 Each team will have a chance to win a Gold or Silver award or
Bronze or Consolation.
2.1.8 Special Award will be awarded for best designs.
2.1.9 CLOSING DATE OF ENTRIES is on 14 APRIL 2014 and
DATE OF COMPETITION is on 11 MAY 2014.

2.2 Teenagers Invention:
2.2.1 This is a designing expo where each group is required to
produce 1 (ONE) invention according to the themes that are
listed as follows:
(i) Renewable energy
(ii) Environmentally Friendly
(iii) Power efficiency
2.2.2 Each group should consist of TWO students and ONE teacher
as a companion. Entries for 64 groups only.
2.2.3 Payment of fees is RM 30 per team. Students are given 15
minutes to present their research in Malay / English and 5
minutes to answer the question posed by the jury.
2.2.4 The maximum score is 100%. Medals will be awarded based
on the percentage of marks obtained as follows:
GOLD : 80 % – 100%
SILVER : 65% – 79%
BRONZE : 55 % – 64%
