• Unported versions might be preferable for projects and content aimed at international communities. Keeps look and identity ‘global’ + they’re always updated.

• Ported licences carry the nuances of a jurisdiction’s language and legal system, and associates content with its owner’s home country.

• If licences need to be enforced in court, a ported licence can streamline the process of bringing a lawsuit within your ownjuristdiction.

• Widespread use of jurisdiction-specific licences gives CC staff inthose countries incentives to develop and update licences.
