Creation of the poster The stages I went through to create the poster

Page 2: Creation of the poster

Step 1

•I started by creating the poster; I set out the appropriate page size (A4) and I coloured the background black as I felt this would contrast the Polaroids well.

Step 2• I then added in the

picture of the Polaroid that I had sourced from Google images and I changed the size using the transform tool so that it was prominent on the page.

Step 3• I then moved onto

adding in the picture of Becca. she is playing the role of the stalker so she needed to be dominant over the picture of George. I used the transform tool to change the size of the image so it fit into the Polaroid frame.

Step 4• I then duplicated the

Polaroid layer but shrunk it down to make it fit in the space in the top right hand corner; I then added in the photo of George that we had used in the film as this would link the trailer to the poster.

Step 5•I moved onto adding

in the caption. We decided as a group we would use the caption ‘it’s a long way down from the top’ I added this on the Polaroid as I had decided this in the designing phase.

Step 6• Next I added in the

name of the film and I used the same font as the trailer to connect the two products. I then added in the institutional information and I made sure that it was a small font as this is common on movie posters.

Step 7• I had designed the date

to be written in numerical format; however I felt it was better to be seasonal as it would get the reader interested in searching for more information which means they may come across the website which links both of the products together.

Step 8•After completing

our analysis of the BBFC guidelines we had decided upon a 12 for our film and we felt it was important to add this into our products.

Step 9• I was going to have

the logo however it didn’t feel this fit in with the colour scheme well so I have decided just to add the name and a copyright sign as this is common on film posters.

Step 10• I used the following website

to locate the font for the actor’s names- you could click on the letter of choice and then copy the picture and cut the letter of choice out. I did this for the actors name as it linked in with the idea of the ransom note font within the trailer.

Step 10 continued• After copying all the

letters I needed into a black Photoshop file I filled in the coloured letters with either black or white so that they would fit in with the colour scheme of the poster

Step 10 continued•I repeated this

process for the names of both of the actors and I inserted them into the space on the large polaroid within the poster
