Creating Opportunities
In 2014 the Des Plaines Chamber of Commerce hosted over 90 events. Perhaps you attended one of First Friday
breakfasts, stopped in at an After Hours or were part of our Women in Business group or YPN. Maybe you took
advantage of our educational seminars or our Leadership Series or you came out and supported our Foundation
Fundraiser. If you are concerned about the political situation in Illinois, we hope you stopped in for “Coffee with
your Legislator” or attended the Mayor’s Annual Address to Business or the Legislative Breakfast. You might
have expanded your business leads by attending one of the 10 multi-chamber events that we participated in or
perhaps you took part in one of the 4 Multi– Chamber Expos we offered. Perhaps you danced the night away at
the Winter Garden Ball or got the longest drive at our Golf Outing.
All that we do takes the work of many people and maybe you served on one of our committees or our Ambassa-
dor group. Our Young Entrepreneur’s Academy is successful because our members stepped up to teach, mentor,
lecture, support and share their business ideas with the students of District 62.
Whether you attended one event or thirty; enjoyed a day on the links or worked on the committee; sold a Foot-
ball Raffle book; marched with us in the 4th of July parade or poured a beer at Fall fest, we thank you for all that
you do to support the Des Plaines Chamber of Commerce. We are 600 members strong and growing because of
you!
We hope that you will take advantage of all that your Chamber has to offer in 2015.

Connecting Businesses Thank You!
In 1989 that the board of directors decided it would be beneficial to the Chamber and to the community of Des
Plaines to establish a foundation for purpose of providing educational opportunities to our members and their
families and our community.
Over the past 25 years the Foundation has provided numerous educational and professional development semi-
nars and workshops for our members, supported community initiatives, and provided scholarship money for
member’s children who are continuing their education. Currently the chamber offers
3– $2,000 scholarships each year.
Support for the Des Plaines Chamber Foundation comes through our annual Foundation Fundraiser, ticket pro-
ceeds for the Winter Garden Ball, the monthly split-the-pot drawings and from our members who generously in-
crease their annual dues payment by $25 in support of the Foundation.
We thank all the members listed below who increased their dues and donated to the Chamber Foundation in

Networking After Hours 2015
The Des Plaines Chamber of Commerce is currently scheduling
the monthly After Hours for 2015.After Hours provides our
members with the opportunity to showcase their business to fel-
low members.
Hosts provide food and drinks to those who attend and a raffle
prize for a business card drawing. Hosts can also give tours of
their facility or provide information about the services they have
to offer.
The Chamber registers the guests, provides publicity before and
after the event and promotes After Hours in the newsletter, on the
Chamber website and through our weekly event e-mails.
If your location too small to host an After Hours event, consider
partnering with one of our many Chamber restaurants to show-
case both businesses!
